i've been having a really hard time researching this...did Freddie write the songs on Barcelona? i've looked on a bunch of lyric sites, but theyre never specific about this. tanky tanky!

Freddie & Mike Moran wrote the music for the album, and a good deal of the lyrics, although Tim Rice contributed the lyrics on a few tracks.
Freddie wrote most of the lyrics (only Tim Rice wrote 'The Golden Boy' and 'The Fallen Priest', while Montserrat Caballé wrote 'Ensueño'), and Freddie and Mike Moran wrote and arranged the music.

Are you sure that lyrics were just Freddie? Isn't there any chance that Mike contributed there as well?
I'd say not. The lyrics are a little TOO Freddie for there to have been a second lyricist.
It says who wrote what on the album, and the album is not out of print.
According to Picturehall, "All songs composed by Freddie Mercury and Mike Moran except lyrics on
'Ensuño' by Montserrat Caballé and lyrics on 'The Fallen Priest' and 'The Golden Boy' by Tim Rice".
So ... it doesn't exclude Mike from lyrics.

Anyway, I stick by my original reply. Mike was in on the music and not the words. Like I said, the lyrics are very Freddie, but on top of that, I've never known Mike to write lyrics. Even as far back as (I belive it was) 1976 or so, he wrote only music.
