This topic (http://www.queenzone.com/queenzone/forumnew/forum_topic_view.aspx?Q=970146) has once again brought my attention to it, and even one of the better sources treats it like it was an "officially recorded and leaked" demo, while it's actually not.

This duet version has been a fan mix of Freddie's album version and the common demo, not an "available" demo. Just like that New York, New York thing, where someone mixed stuff together from Freddie's demo to the One Vision studio talks.
Just so that people don't get confused...

What EXACTLY makes you think it is not genuine ?
If it's a remix - which I doubt, where did the remixer take MJ's vocals from ?

Boy meets world :)
A few years ago two out of three demos recorded by Freddie and Michael Jackson were leaked. The one was "There Must Be More To Life Than This" with MJ singing and Freddie producing (you can actually hear Freddie directing Michael during the recording, at one point telling MJ to "ad-lib"). The other was the Freddie/Michael version of "State of Shock".
There is no version of TMBMTLTT with both Freddie and Michael singing together, at least none that have leaked. The version you've heard is a fan remix, combining that demo with a Freddie demo of the same song.
I can't explain it more simply than that.

You're so nice, nobody has called me a boy for at least ten years :-)
Thanks for the reply. Is the genuine demo with MJ only available somewhere ?

Actually that is the site where I've downloaded my mp3s a LONG time ago, looks like he updated it - 10 years ago there was nothing like youtube clips :)
You're in luck, mate. It turns out that I have the mp3 on my computer @work. So here it is:

I hope you enjoy it! :)
Watch out for the "ad-lib" bit from Freddie.

thanx for the demo!! :)
I love the demo, when Freddie says to Michael to ad lib.
Has anyone ever come up with the real reason they lost touch?

Peter Freestone said it was because Michael was shocked at Freddie's cocaine intake, but it may have just been that they both kind of retreated into their own worlds.

So many variations on that coke story, yeah. Phoebe's story, as I recall from his book, isn't an eye-witness one. I seem to remember a story of MJ walking in on Freddie doing coke in a bathroom?
Of course, the question I want to know if there was any hanky-panky between them. Or at least a crush.

I heard MJ touched freddie's balls but then freddie got excited and sodomized MJ. Later it became awkward. Could it be true?
