That may have been true, but here in the USA, it was completely ignored. It's considered a crap song and album here and I agree.[QUOTE][QUOTENAME]Matteus wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Hi

#15? That makes it a "Smash hit?" Most Queen fan here totally ignored it here. That particular ablum is nothing more than tripe. Everyone in Europe is under the impression that the "Break free" had something to do with down fall in popularity in the USA. Yeah right.

[QUOTE][QUOTENAME]Mrs.Deacon wrote: [/QUOTENAME]i don´t think so....as i remember that "A kind of magic" single reached no.15 in US Billboard charts.[/QUOTE] Are you sure "magic" made #15 in the states?...I don't think so, Radio ga ga was the last top 40 in america, and a kind of magic was in fact a smash worldwide hit. Only in america it didn't do well.
I´m sure about that because it says so in Finnish music magazine called Suosikki from 1986.
I checked it out today. And there it is black and white.
#15 Queen - A kind of magic
#15 Queen - A kind of magic
That's incorrect. 'A Kind Of Magic' reached #42 in the US.

I know Wikipedia is considered a dubious source, but #42 for AKOM is what's been reported over the years.

I knew it didn't chart at 15, but 42 still isn't as bad as I thought. With a little better marketing it could have cracked the the top 40. Good song and great video.
I WILL NEVER BELIEVE ANYTHING.....
IMO those are just fake legends such as the 180 voices in 'Bo Rhap' or Paul McCartney being dead.

Paul McCartney is dead?
Paul McCartney is dead?
I just can write the facts about the album "A Kind Of Magic".
It reached number 1 in the UK
and it climbed up to or slept at number 46 in the US. So it is written in the Book "As It Began" by Jim Jenkins and Jacky Gunn.
So for me it´s hard to believe that the single reached the top 50 in the states, while even the album failed the top forty.
