... well, if I'm not mistaken, the current run is still scheduled for an Oct. 6 final date, but of course it is too early for a further extension to be discussed (IIRC, last year it happened late April); as a matter of fact, tickets for both Oct. 6 shows have been "not on sale" for months now...
... which reminds me I've got to check with Ticketmaster tomorrow ... :)
Last year, Oct. 5 was to be the final date IIRC, and after the extension was granted Brian promised he'd make the date "special" all the same, as a reward to the fans - and he actually played on the occasion.
So there's hope he'll do the same this year even in the event of a further extension...

I think he was in really good mood when me + my wife met him backstage in Rio'92. He invited us to sat down and say/ask wathever we wanted! The first couple of minutes I 'froze' completely, then my wife began the conversation. In the end we've spent a good 15 minutes or more there, together with Jim Beach. It came to a point when I said 'I think we're taking too much of your time, thank you very much for receiving us here' and we said goodbye & left. He was very relaxed eating a banana & drinking cofee, very funny to watch :-D
And yes, he signed everything we wanted him to sign for us :)
I think we benefited from the fact that it was one of his first solo shows, after a long time not being on tour/meeting a lot of fans, etc.

Well you know the old fan type thing, people get famous, they get fans, the fans want to meet them, etc, etc, as the story goes, so what is so bad about signing autographs or just chatting a bit?

I met 3 times Brian and each times, he proved he was a very nice guy and very patient. Last time I saw him (except on 30 march 2005 for Queen + PR); it was at Festival de Jazz in Montreux in 2001. It was at the end of the afternoon, I was standing in the Hall. And Brian came from everywhere. He was alone. Me and just after 2 or 3 people recognized him. We took some pictures and I realized that it was very patient at this time because my camera had some troubles, so Brian wanted that the picture was a good enough. Then we did another one.

He was really nice when I met him, but he knew that I travelled across the ocean just to see the AW tour. ;-) I was nervous and probably acted like an idiot. I also met him at an autograph signing. Needless to say, that was a more rushed encounter.
If I ever meet him again, I don't think I'd fool up with getting an autograph.

Once on the Innuendo NA Promo tour. I waited outside MuchMusic in Toronto and he came out and signed autographs on the way to the waiting limo.
I also met him on His BTTL tour. I managed to get backstage and he was very patient and signed autographs for fans and worked the room.
My funniest experience in meeting celebs was Bob Geldof. I waited for him outside a gig with a copy of his autobiography to sign and we chatted a bit about the show then someone started shouting about how they love him and he's a saint. He stopped, turned then shouted "F-off you wanker!" then continued chatting with people.

I met Brian and Roger at the Vancouver auditions for the Canadian WWRY show. I sang my bit, told him he needed more fiber in his diet, and then he stood up and threw his multigrain bagel at me, shouting "I'll give you fiber, you dirty bastard!" There was a small scuffle, Roger lost an eye, and I got the boot. Needless to say, I'm not on the cast, but I didn't want to go live in Toronto for 2 years anyway.

As far as I know, WWRY is showing no signs of slowing down in London. It's still selling out every show, after 5 years. If it was closing, it would have made the news, and marketing for the final shows would be insane.
