Nobody considers Billy Preston to be a Beatle either.
who is Billy Preston
sometimes its best to keep quiet and let people think you are ignorant than open your mouth and remove all doubt

Brian and Roger keep passionately calling themselves Queen. Spike Edney plays with 'em (otherwise it would be Queen+PR+Spike Edney), so Spike must be a Queen member now.

So are Danny Miranda and Jamie Moses.

Signature?? I cant write on this can i??
Billy Preston was NOT a session member for the Beatles but in fact a star in his own right. He happened to turn up at Apple Studios in January of 69 to jam and ended up on several songs.
Well, consider that Bernie Taupin isn't considered Elton John.
Creativity can always cover for a lack of knowledge.

Sorry! It doesn't work that way. They are just back-up musicians. Just look at the ROTC liner notes with a magnifying glass, and you'll see the small print mentioning Spike, Danny and Jamie.

Besides, Spike was playing with Queen in the 80's. He wasn't a member then, and he isn't a member now. He's a great musician, though. It would have been kinda strange if The Magic tour would have been billed as Queen+Spike Edney, wouldn't it...?
Brian May called Spike "an unsung hero". I think that pretty much sums it, gentlemen (and ladies). Any commentary beyond this point shall be considered petty bickering by me.

I'm as mad as HELL, and I'm not going to take this anymore!

A Roger Waters concert includes several other musicians, but it's still a Roger Waters concerts. Elvis gigs didn't feature him on all instruments and vocals.

So ... Magic Tour was a Queen tour even if there were non-band members too.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.
Honesly,
Who doesn't love Uncle Spike? I wouldn't go so far as to call him a member of Queen. As somebody else put it...I think...
-Spike Edney to Queen is:
-Billy Preston to the Beatles.
As much as I like Spike, I don't think he holds a candle to Billy Preston as far as keys/oragan is concerned. However Spike is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, which makes one more valuable as a sideman. Which is exactly what Spike is, a sideman. Paul Rodgers however is a member of Queen because he's contributed solo material, and he puts his own twist on things. Spike just plays true to the songs. And for what its worth, that's the way Brian and Roger want it for now...
"Oh oh people of the earth Listen to the warning the seer he said For those who hear and mark my words Listen to the good plan." -Brian May (The Prophet's Song)
Correction...I meant that Paul contributed "original material," and not solo material.
"Oh oh people of the earth Listen to the warning the seer he said For those who hear and mark my words Listen to the good plan." -Brian May (The Prophet's Song)
Spikey says bollocks!
Of course Spikey is a Queen member. Maybe an uncredited member, but a member.
