technically its not really a knighthood because he isn't British but i know what you mean.its the same as what Geldolf got and at least he doesn't want to be known as SIR,he can be overbearing enough without that too.
it reminds me of Glastonbury 2 years ago when he came onto the main stage with the 'make poverty history' speech.a large majority were chanting 'make Bono history'.
all we need now is a certain permed guitarist to get his acknowledgement next time they are announced,is the petition still going?

i think that it is about time. but he's irish. but no one really cares right? oh well. go bono! :)
My other English teacher is going to love this
Well if he didn't love himself before...
Geldof deserves it a lot more than Bono did, though.
Mind you, as much as I'm against knighthoods, this is still a hell of a lot better than giving one to 'random musician X' for contributing to British music or some other farce like that to up the esteem of the royal family.

Not really. There are still a bunch of assholes who insult Bono for "whining" about poverty. FFS, if he annoys you, don't listen to him! He's at least doing something good (no matter if he really cares or if it's just marketing... He DID convince many people to join campaigns like the One campaign).

Doesn't make him any less of an ego-tripper, though.
What he DOES is good, whom he IS, isn't. The exact opposite of Stephen King really.
