I know he's annoying. But it was April Fools and it was quite funny, give him a break.
I think the humour quotient on QZ is beginning to match the intelligence quotient. In order for an April Fools prank to work, there must be some degree of believability in the prank. So numb nuts posts that Brian and John are getting married. Is that believable? No, both are happily married. Is it funny? No, because it's idiotic and the premise of a prank is gone. So please tell me how a random post which contains no truth or no attempt to fool the reader is funny or clever? Maybe Greg Brooks was right, Queen Zone is Moan Zone is Moron Zone.

On one of the Who boards, someone posted an official-looking article that, based on the success of NBC's 'Grease: You're The One That I Want', FOX was going to counteract with 'Tommy Can You Hear Me?', in which fledgling dancers and musicians were going to battle it out for roles in a TV version thing of Tommy, with Pete Townshend, original Tommy Broadway director Des McAnuff, and someone else as the judges. It SOUNDED official, it LOOKED official, and it was plausible, but -- obviously -- it was a joke.
Whereas the sheer absurdity of Brian and John marrying each other, as well as the fact that the posted article stated that it was Brian and ROGER marrying each other, just isn't funny.

You know Lester, I'm becoming an elitist about QZ. I first came here 7-8 years ago, and there were tons of knowledgeable posters. Someone recently said that there are 6 worthwhile people here at this moment in time, I'd say 15-20 tops, and outside of them there's not much value from the rest.
Having spent entirely too much time here over the years since 1997 I can honestly say that the board has never been as crap as it is now. There used to be such as GREAT community spirit, which is now sadly gone.

I don't think it's about the number of years, I think it's about the attitude. I've been registered for more than five years, but I only became a regular several months ago. I may be flattering myself, but I wouldn't put myself in the same boat as the freakshow who started this moronic thread.
