Well, if you find Brian May's live Brighton/guitar solo boring, than you are my polar opposite in musical taste. For me, it has always been the peak of any and almost every Queen show.

The solo is just too long, I never watch it. I liked the solo on Live Killers, it was really good and fresh. The problem, as someone stated here, is that Brian has been playing this solo for 30 years and it's more or less the same every time he plays. It probably sounded new and interesting in the 1970s, but not anymore. It's disappointing he never developed something better, it all sounds as if someone is just trying their new guitar. If he wants to keep the solo in future concerts (if any), he should play 5 minutes maximum, not longer.
I dunno. They are alright I guess. They also gave the rest of the group a chance to get off satge and change or go to the bathroom whatever.
His solo can be amazing or it can be awful. I remember one show during the QPR North American tour where I could not wait for it to end while at other shows it was excellent.

I do find that Brian's ten-minute guitar solos are boring and Roger's drum solos too. He keeps saying he hates doing them so why do them? I think that Brian, Roger, John and of course Freddie all get umpteen chances to 'show off' as someone puts it in the heavier Queen material of the early Seventies, Liar and so on. Mind you there was less of that in the Eighties of course.

I love the guitar solos and i've never been fed up of them not even once and to say that they don't differ i beg to disagree for example 1974 and 1975 are completely different to 1976 and 1977 is totally different to 1976 etc...
They have developed and changed and sometimes shorter and condensed in the later years but i'm off the opinion that i want to hear the best guitar sound in any way shape or form.
