2. If "everyone's going to convert to mp3 anyway" then why can't they use the pre-existing FLAC?
3. What's the point of bigging up two songs that are in when there's two others that aren't? Big Spender/Jailhouse Rock are vital parts of this recording, and to post an incomplete version is utterly pointless.[/QUOTE]

i would post the rest, but i would just get shit on from people like you. as long as some people are downloading it, i dont really care what you say.

Oh really? Congratulations then, for spreading another lossy format through the new fans or new collectors who still don't have this show.
This is why the Queen trading scene is definitely one of the poorest of all bands...

When will you guys learn that mp3 is BAD? I won't go into technical details which most of the people don't understand, but I'll say this in a simple way...

mp3 is NOISE disguised within music

...as simple as that

as far as i have seen, and through experience, you cant play flac files, or can you? give me a program that can convert files to flac and i wont post mp3 anymore. the files converting software i have doesnt convert mp3 to flac, although it does everything else

What's Dolby Digital or DTS then?

You lot are a bunch of sad wankers. Get a life. Somebody tries to share some music (a boot recorded in 1975, no less!) and is attacked by anal Queen "fans" who complain at the very thought.
Yep - no beating into submission here - just sunshine attitutes

To play FLAC files, you can download a plugin that will work with WinAmp, and also Nero, for burning.

To encode FLACs, use a program called FLAC Frontend.

The point of having the FLAC format is to preserve the quality of the original WAV file, but make it smaller for transferring... kind of like using WinZip. An mp3 file has already lost quality, because it's about 1/10 the size of a WAV file. So, to preserve the quality, you want to go from WAV to FLAC.

Don't be harsh on him, guys. At one point, all of us didn't know what FLAC was. We all have to learn at some point... :)

Ahhh, If we can only share some reel-to-reels on these boards, lol.

Or how about recording some mp3s onto reel-to-reel?

Nice to see that GH brought this topic to a happy ending after others were so brutal.

OK, i admit, it was harsh. However, i have suspect you for beeing destructive with purpose. If that is not the case, then i understand that you dont know about this lossless vs lossy matter.
SirGH have explained it, so i wont do it. However, keep in mind that convert mp3-->wav-->flac wont help. It have to be from a genuine cd-r or download. Then you can rip it using EAC-->WAV-->flac

Of course you can, have you ever searched properly for a program to do that thing for you?
You don't need to convert flac files into anything, you can play them with winamp or dBamp for example.

For the record, I've been using dBpowerAMP Audio Player and been very happy with it.

On another topic, it's always good to share, but if you do it, you may better do it properly and share lossless files. If you don't know about them, or how to play them, you can always ask, but posting stuff like "as long as someone is downloading I don't care" won't help the trading community.
Of course if anyone wants to convert the files to mp3, they are free to do it afterwards, but personally I prefer to listen to the real thing. But that's just me...

Well no, actually if you do what I'm criticising you for NOT doing, then I won't criticise you for it. I'm a bit surprised that you witheld those tracks though. What was the thinking behind that?

Oh, and my portable player will play flac files directly.
