So the assumed lineage of my version would be

Master > DAT (1) > CDR (x) > WAV > FLAC?

Please confirm and I'll add it to the first post. Thanks for all your info!

I'd rather say Master > DAT(x) > CDR(x)

You cannot be really sure that the DAT gens of both versions are identical. The less complete version may be from a different generation of the original Master > DAT transfer. Since DAT > DAT is (when done properly) a bit-perfect digital, and therefore lossless way of copying, you cannot tell if something is higher or lower gen by ear. DAT(0) may sound identical to DAT(10).
Well, I was just going by what I was told when I first got the recording. I was told:

Master > DAT > DAT > CDR

Ehm, I wasn't questioning that lineage, Bob. Obviously both versions are derived from the same original Analog Master > DAT transfer, but the less complete version may have been transfered to CDR from a differently gen'ed DAT than your copy.
As always, thank you Ginger. YTB
