Close! I had a Guinness. Mm, that taints my Scottish heritage..

Lucky I'm a mongrel of the Mother Country.

Thanks China, only another 10 until I can really, really complain about 'the state the country is in'.

Wow that's sad, I had absolutely no idea it was St. George's day.
Good old St. George.

Happy St George's Day.

This should be a national holiday.

Take away the unnecessary May Day Bank Holiday, and have St George's Day as a holiday instead.

Also we need a extra day off in October so the wait between late-August and Christmas is lessened.
Happy Saint George's Day everyone!!!! :)

Also, Happy Birthday iGSM!!!! :)
What an overrated Saint. Calm down Brits, I'm not trying to trash you, just your Saint. But then he's not just yours:

the patron saint of Canada, Catalonia, England, Ethiopia, Georgia, Greece, Montenegro, Portugal, Serbia, the cities of Istanbul, Ljubljana and Moscow, as well as a wide range of professions, organisations and disease sufferers.

That is correct. Ethiopia has a saint.

Geez, pick one, will ya? And all this because he killed a dragon? Ok, well I killed a level 8 magic user when I was 12. What about me?

Seriously though, besides supposedly saying "I'm a Christian" and then being beheaded for it, what else did this guy do? I'm even Catholic and went to parochial school... never learned the tale.

St. Patrick has more of a written history. But is funny that we celebrate both by getting absolutly pissed.

Proud to be English. (Some of the time, anyway)

Wow! That's a long stretch. We have a couple of happy holidays in between. Halloween where we celebrate the dead and Thanksgiving where we celebrate how we (and Britain) massacred the Indians and made them move. Makes you all warm and fuzzy inside.

Is there a happy holiday? Easter? all about death. Christmas? Jesus born in a stable in the middle of the winter. MLK day? Shooting a freedom fighter. Veterans day? Labor Day?

I'm beginning to look forward to Arbor day.
