Well Joxer, it would seem you've already successfully answered your own question. You're in the UK, have you heard of the service called Any Question Answered (text 63336 you get one free question from their website as well), they've never failed me yet and I sent them your question, cheating I know. They replied "The 2 words are repairable and reparable. Repairable has 10 letters with 5 vowels & 5 consonants. Removing the 'i' gives reparable which is a synonym."

The time taken for them to answer was 2 minutes - don't know how they do it!!

Thing is, the letters haven't been re-arranged and it's not really a synonym; just a different spelling. Or am I being pedantic?
