Who likes stephen king movies?

I do! I especially like Rose red, but the Shining and Misery are also really nice

I am a HUGE Stephen King fan. I like most of his movies, but unfortunately none of them are NEARLY as good as the books.


Except for the Green Mile. That one was almost as good as the book.

Misery was a great movie, but even then the book was so much better. The movie was quite a bit different from the book. Especially since she only used a sledge hammer to smash his feet. In the book, she actually used an ax and chopped it right off. Blood squirted all over the ceiling and room, and then she had to singe his foot to stop the bleeding.


Also, more people were killed. A police officer was actually chopped to pieces while alive by a ride-on lawn mower.

Such a great book.

And the Shining and the Stand too. And Salem's Lot! Those are all my favorites.

Stand By Me is pretty great.

I enjoy Stephen King's books far more than I enjoy his movies. But yes, some of the movies are very good. I hate Pet Semetary though, I thought it was rediculous. Rose Red and the Shining, however, were great!

I've always wanted to see Apt Pupil but can't seem to find it...then again I'm not looking that hard butcha know.

Also I enjoyed Creepshow.

funnily enough i was watching The Stand last night after reading the book during the week.
personal faves are the ones already mentioned IE: Misery and IT and The Green Mile and Stand By Me.
the original tv version of salems lot with David Soul was great too.

I love Emery's mother in Rose Red, just too funny :)

Laugh if you will, but I love THE RUNNING MAN. Just watched it again Saturday night.

Nay sir. I loved that movie. It made me laugh and worry about games at the same time.

I also remembered The Long Walk being a Stephen King book.

Can anyone tell me the name of the...story he wrote about a guy who ultimately blows his house up because he doesn't want a highway to go through his area - specifically his house.

As one who is too lazy to read for the most part, I've enjoyed quite a few film adaptations of King's works.

Stand By Me and Misery are excellent.
The Shining (1980) is superb (and I didn't enjoy the boring TV movie version which was more faithful to the book, sorry)
Apt Pupil - hmm, one of the lesser ones IMO
Cujo - Quite good and under-rated IMO
Creepshow (has King input) - one of my fave fun horror movies
Dreamcatcher - bit too weird but still entertaining
Shawshank Redemption - One of the best films ever made. People STILL discover this film and talk about it as if it's something new and say how much they were surprised about it.
The Green Mile - the weird version of Shawshank ;) - worth a rent but I haven't desired to see it again
- Nearly all TV movie/miniseries - just haven't appealed to me. I think somehow they just become bland and drawn-out in this format.
