   As someone who has lived in the Midwestern section of America his entire life, it really hasn't been a popular idea to tell people that Queen is your favorite music group. Usually one gets looks, snickers, and sayings like "How could you like that gay dude who died from AIDS?" So, it brings great joy to me that Freddie has had the last laugh (as was usually his custom) in America. It was a little over a year ago that the RIAA made it official by declaring that five Queen albums were up for the designation of being multi-platinum. Yes, we here in the land of liberty have finally gotten around to the fact that Freddie Mercury was truly one of the most gifted singer, songwriter, and just all-around performer that the world has ever seen. Now, it is actually considered a cool thing to list Freddie and/or Queen as one of your musical influences. Freddie, see we finally did come around in America. Take care.
