Freddie, I am an Black woman who has adored you since I first heard the first note from your voice as a child of the 80's. Yes, I was young and late to you,(I was 10 in '77 and didn't begin to really listen to you all until the early '80's) but I have loved you since. I honestly, truly, in all spirit of truth mean the words that I am saying. I never cared that you were gay or bi or South African (which, in the 80's especially, to me was far worse than any homophobic situation people pigeonholed you into) I would have loved to sit with you at your piano and ask (prodded, cojoled, begged...) you sing "Say a Little for You" to me. That's my favorite Aretha song. That's my song for you. When you left us.. I was so mad at you for nothing other than not protecting yourself better. Nothing else but that. So hurt for you. We miss you. I miss your voice and that smile and your eyes when you grin at something slyly like one of your cats looking at something to pounce on and enjoy. We miss you like crazy. Recently, trolling thru the internet (which is something I never do with the throughness that I have under Farrokh Bulsara), I found this site and read the love that people have for you. Still. Always. I had let you go so long ago - it hurt to listen to any song I knew well - which was all of them. "Seaside Rendezvous" is something I sing to myself when I'm most happy. So I decided to search you and the boys out as I discovered one day and for the first time in a long time I pulled out you and the Boys vinyls and read thru lyrics and stared at covers and sleeves...but thru this net I discovered the song "You Don't Fool Me" on "Made in Heaven", a work I didn't know even existed I so let go of you with the bitterness only lovers reserve for those who they feel have abandoned them. Freddie.. you have risen. That voice is back engulfing me. I smile at the words. I listened to it twelve times in a row until I know it by heart then I move on to the others but I feel like that young girl again.. in her room.. with her speakers firm...discovering that voice... Thank you, again, Freddie. May you rest in heavenly peace. -Elaina

Recently watched the bbc4 showing of Queen at the Hammersmith and what a performance, I hope they release the full concert on DVD, it's interesting listening to it just how much Freddie's voice changed from that period onwards, watching that to be honest his voice wasn't all that great but the master of a true champion is to practice and get better in which his voice became miles stronger in the following years which probably explains Queen's reluctance to release any live shows from the 70's as he was only in the early stages enroute to becoming the ultimate showman.

Oh my dearest love... Your absence makes you that much more present, each new year that goes by since that sad November in 1991... I will love you for as long as I exist in this world... and if we ever meet in afterlife, I hope you recognize me - I'll be the one with the biggest grin in heaven - a grin you cause every time I hear your voice or see your face.... Enjoy the peace you're witnessing up there, miss you and love you forever :*
