The Darkness Follow Up Hyde Park With Queen+Paul Rodgers With Release Of Their Queen Influenced New Album
Following up the gig, the Hawkins brothers and their band The Darkness, will be releasing their new album and single. The album is The Darkness's sophomore effort on the heels of their debut album, ''Permission To Land''. The album has the added Queen influence and touch in that renowned Queen Producer, Roy Thomas Baker, lended his talents on this album, which also was recorded in the same studio that Queen also recorded their legendary ''Bohemian Rhapsody'' in. As an extra tip of the hat to Queen, Justin Hawkins had the immense pleasure, and honor..of playing one of Freddie Mercury's pianos on the record. The Darkness have regularly cited Queen as one of their primary artistic, musical inspirations and influences.
The new as yet untitled album from The Darkness has an expected tentative release date of October 17, 2005, with the single set to drop tentatively on October 3, 2005.
Justin Hawkins has his own solo single , ''This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us'', a cover of the classic Sparks tune, due out on August 8.
