Roger Taylor interview by Taylor Hawkins in this month's Rhythm (August)

Taylor Hawkins stars as guest editor where he interviews his main influences. Coincidently Roger features as one of Taylor's big influences.

The interview is a four page spread with an indepth interview on Roger's approach to the drum-set and music, aslo featuring some tour pictures.

TH:
Out of all the Queen records you recorded, which has your favourite drum sound?

RT:
"I like the big, natural drum sounds and from our earlier records, Sheer heart attack stands out. Some of the drum sounds on A day At The Races, News Of The World and Innuendo are also good. Later on I think technology got in the way a bit. When you listen to a lot of '80s records-including some of ours-there are a lot of drum machines and samples. I tend to dislike that 'machine' sound."
