The 'We Will Rock You' band beat the Beatles to number two position, the Mirror reports.

The band was voted the most wanted in a poll of 1,000 people by bar chain Walkabout, although just 29 percent people voted to be the lead singer.

The Bohemian Rhapsody rockers fronted by the late Freddie Mercury rose to fame during the 1970s and were Britain's most successful band of the past three decades.

The band was noted for its musical diversity, multi-layered arrangements, vocal harmonies and incorporation of audience participation into their live performances.
