Mr Russell said he did not know which acts would be picked for next year, but he said they liked to get groups who “sing songs which people of all ages know the words to.”

The Fakenham gig is one of five open air concerts Russells' Promotions is staging this summer.

The other one in Norfolk is the fourth Music On The Meadows at Sussex Barn, Burnham Market, on Wednesday, August 22, when a crowd of up to 5,000 is expected to watch the World of the Bee Gees and the Magic of Abba.

All Russells' Promotions gigs raise money for the National Society for Epilepsy.
