Queen — The band continually evolved in terms of its music, but the members didn’t: vocalist Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and bassist John Deacon. Deacon, May and Taylor all were decent singers, but couldn’t touch Mercury — the man once famed for having a “platinum overbite — for vocal power or personality. Hits included “Keep Yourself Alive,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” “We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions” and the song that most showcases their ensemble vocal capabilities, “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Paul Rodgers of Bad Company, Free and the Firm has sung with the group since Mercury’s death.
