Update on that Radio 1 40th anniversary compilation of covers:
The Streets' remake of Elton John's "Your Song"; Lily Allen's take on The Pretenders' "Don't Get Me Wrong"; Mutya Buena's awesome cover of Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car"; Franz Ferdinand and Girls Aloud doing David Bowie's "Sound and Vision," which sounds exactly how I imagined it; McFly's version of The Jam's "Town Called Malice," which isn't as hideous as it could have been; a daring Sugababes re-imagining of The Stylistics' "Betcha By Golly, Wow"; and Keane's way-too faithful revision of Queen and David Bowie's "Under Pressure." Oh, and when Tom Chaplin attempts to mimic Freddie Mercury's falsetto during the "Chippin' around/kickin' my brains around the floor" part, it is simply ghastly.
