That's a good point, Roger's Queen... Didn't there used to be one in the US though? Royal Vision? Or was that just a convention?

yeah.I don't think so...that was a covention I believe. but it would be nice to have our own fan club to visit :)
It would be nice to have one to visit in the UK too :( Every time I went there I said I'd visit, and never did and then it closed down the office when I went in March for the UK convention. :( Grrr.
yeah I know-now I can't even visit that one soo now...I'll never have one to visit lol. I was so upset when I heard about it closing!
I like in New York. Bleh. Nothing Queenlike goes on there.

If it was in Atlanta, I'd go.

Hi Elle I don't know, we might have met. I was wearing the white Freddie flash t shirt. I have blonde hair. I can't come to this one sorry. I am flying in to New York on the 4th of August but my girlfriend wants me to go to her family reunion to meet her family members I haven't seen before so I can't. I hope to go again next year though :-)

If you look on the pix page you'll see some where I'm in it, as one of the "Sweet Ladies" (in black). I'm sure I would have noticed someone besides Jacky with an English accent at that! :D Sorry if I missed ya! Do you go to the UK conventions? I went to the last one and it was SO GREAT!

Oh yeah I see you. Damn I'm not on any pic. There was one of the back of me on some website of that convention back last year. I was in the room watching the video of The Bohemian Rhapsody story and someone took a pic of my back! I went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in that afternoon, it was pretty good. Yeah I met Jackie there she seemed impressed I had came all that far to attend. No it was my first convention anywhere. I've never been to any UK ones. Where was the UK one held you went to?
Gem,
The UK one was this past March in Somerset- Weston Super Mare to be precise. At a Pontins. It was... interesting budget accomodations.... BUT the party was fantastic!! Spike Edney and Jamie Moses played with a couple others as the World Famous Red Sox, the tribute bands Queen for a Day and Rhapsody rocked, and we all partied and danced for 3 days straight... HEAVEN!
The next one is rumored to be in the same place in the last week of March 08.

Not true, Almost Queen plays in NJ and NY sometimes, they're amazing tribute band.
Now the truth is nothing Queenlike ever happens on the WEST COAST, where I'm from, except for the Q+PR shows when they were here in 06.

Elle - I have been to Weston Super Mare I live around an hours drive from there. It's a nice place by the sea. I remember the conventions in the mid 1990s were held in North Wales and I thought of going but I never did. So while you were here did you visit Freddie's house in London? (Freddie's old house I mean) I think there are many Queen fans in the UK but my god the US Queen fans I found to be more scary fans than here. Like i saw groups of them who had been to see Queen+Paul Rodgers all close to tears just remembering it. I don't think here people would get like that so bad.

Heh, you're right, the US fans are loony. I think it's partly because we're soooooo Queen starved, since they hadn't toured since 1982 or so. So we have alot of time to make up for! :D I count myself among the crazy ones, I saw Q+PR 5 times on tour, the first 2 shows in 2005 and 3 in 2006, I flew about a total of 5000 miles for it and snuck into after parties, into the front row, everything for my boys! :) Also, at least for ME, I feel totally isolated as a Queen fan waaaaay out here in California, so when I get to see Q+PR or hang out with other Queen people, it's a special experience. One I never thought I would ever have!
I've been to Garden Lodge half a dozen times. I stay at a hotel on Cromwell Rd (near the Gloucester Rd tube stop) just to be in walking distance of Freddie's. :) I've left roses and notes and just sat there listening to my ipod and remembering him...
The UK conventions were in Southport for many years and then Prestatyn, Wales, and now Weston Super Mare. It was SOOOO cold there! And the cab ride from the train station was disturbingly long, I wondered where they were taking us! :) It was the best 3 days of my life I think, though. I had sooo much fun!

I'd agree with that. ;-)
About the isolation...marry a Queen fan. Then, it's a mini-convention every day. ;-D

True, I guess I'd have to move overseas and I'm not quite ready or willing to do that! ;)
