Sir GH says: the "DVD" shared here is beyond lossy. It was created from a VCD quality MPEG-1 file that was shared here a while back.

i`ll stop to upload this "dvd"...

sorry to all fans.. ( like me)... maybe sir gh wants to share this, in better quality, of course

I'm very sure the footage of Freddie in the red suspenders is from Paris 3-1-79. He wore black suspenders the night before. That's how I was identifying some of the footage from the TV documentaries.

If some people are just "fans" (which is perfectly fine), then shouldn't Live Killers and YouTube videos be enough? The fact that people are interested in these unofficial recordings makes them collectors - to whatever degree they choose.

Before you accuse me of being completely critical and having nothing show for it, be aware that I've shared plenty of things here. If I had a better version of The Champions, I'd be happy to share it... but unfortunately I don't have it. Offering a mere observation of a video's quality (or lack thereof) shouldn't have to require someone to share a better version. That's like telling someone they're not allowed to comment on a book unless they're a published author themselves. This is a forum. It's a place to express opinions. It does not have to be limited to blindly thanking people for everything that's uploaded and accepting it all without having quality standards.

Yeah, but they were definitely mistaken. I've compared all the Japanese footage from both TV broadcasts to the audience recording, and it all matches perfectly.

I really should thank Smitty again, because it was his comments that finally got me to work on this!

Oh, no problem. A while I put together a list and compared recordings to almost completely map this thing out, but I was in a hurry and accidentally clicked the "No" button on the save changes for the file I kept the info on. I sort of put the doc to the back of my mind after that.

Excuse me NICKOBSSO, we all appreciate you re-re-re-reuploading this footage, but you lied about the quality of the footage, that is why you were commented on. You could have just as easily said "MPEG" or "Lossy" in your post, and saved yourself the trouble. If you didn't know better, then you and the others deserved to get the comment so you and others could learn the truth about the quality of this video. And by the way, you could have just shared the whole documentary, instead of the cut up version that either you or probably trancer made.
so we can also conclude that the superman footage with the bananas is not from tokyo?
on my way up
It's been said that the footage was from the Alexandria Palace show during the Crazy Tour, but there's no evidence that the show was filmed.

However, it was recently proven that on the second night (4/24) in Tokyo, Freddie wore the silver leotard instead of the red one. Seeing as how rarely he wore that costume in 1979, and the fact that Queen liked to film multiple back to back shows, it could be from that date.

Well, it's not from 4-25-79, and I can't tell you much more than that. For now, it's one of those unsolved mysteries.

How was that figured out? We haven't seen any confirmed pictures or footage from that date. Or have we?

1. Oh my God! During Now I'm Here, the camera shows a European audience and then fades to a Japanese audience during 4:47 .

2. During 2:56, Brian is seen wearing the Zandra Rhodes outfit (#1). This is different than the other outfit he is seen wearing during this song!

3. On We Are the Champions, Brian is again seen wearing something different and so is Roger.

4. On Bohemain Rhapsody, 2 different video sources seem to be used. Freddie is in red suspenders. Brian is wearing Zandra Rhoades outfit #2. On the rock section of Bohemain Rhapsody, Brian is back wearing Zandra Rhoades outfit #1.

Conclusion: Brian May is seen with 4 different outfits.

1. Zandra Rhoades cloak
2. Zandra Rhoades angel outfit
3. White vest and Black Shirt
4. Encore outfit.

There are 2 audience shots. 1 Eurotrash and 1 Japanese.

Freddie had suspenders with 1.silver studs, 2.red, and 3.multi-color like on theJapan 4/24 dvd.

This is a mix of two nights in Paris and 1 night in Japan.

Anybody care to sum this up?
Already did. LOL! That's alright. We should make a new thread with this new info.

Not pictures or footage (as far as I know), but...
[QUOTENAME]From Queenconcerts.com[/QUOTENAME] Freddie wore the red ballet costume for WWRY and WATC on April 25 while he had the silver ballet costume on April 24! Also the Japanese fan club magazine confirms that.
Well, you pretty much have. :)

Between your clothing observations and my breakdown of the dates on the previous page, I think we've pretty well got it covered!

Ah yes, I remember hearing that now! Can you or someone else scan those pictures, or any others from Japanese fan club magazines? As of now, there are no pictures I know of that can be pinned down to be from any specific Japanese concert date.

I think the bananas are from the first night, 4/24. Just look at the costume FM is wearing!
