Who cares?

Overlooking the fact that you have rudely dismissed the people who DID answer you, the concert was two years ago - haven't you had any other excitement in your life since? Another concert, an extra pepperoni on your pizza, or maybe finally getting control of that embarrassing sex wee issue that's been plaguing your nights?

Sometimes people say some stupid, stupid things on this message board and get jumped on, but equally, sometimes people are saying perfectly acceptable things, like here, and get jumped on for no reason at all.
Its a perfectly reasonable thing to want to talk about, its in the right part of the message board, and if you dont want to talk about it, dont reply, rather than leap on the poor person like theyve committed some horrible crime!

No one ever tell you, if youve got nothing nice to say, dont say anything at all?

As it happens I was there, it was fantastic, particularly being too young to have caught the band live pre-1992, or indeed to have seen the guys' solo tours, so it suddenly got really real and exciting to have them right there in front of me!
I remember being a bit awestruck to start with!

There were some right idiots in the crowd though; Ive got nothing against middle aged people, and this board is probably packed with them, but the atmosphere up front was spoiled by people who didnt want to move and really rock the place; just wanted to stand and clap (this obviously isnt the case with everyone, but there did seem to be a high proportion of miserable 40+ year olds around).
I got sick of being given disapproving looks for being young and wanting to be at the front; the unspoken gig rules had been completely rewritten; It was odd seeing only about 30 people jumping and rocking during TYMD; it would have been the whole first 10 or so rows back in the day!

Other than that, which I had come to terms with after a song or two, it was great, and a fairly tight performance given the fact they were still only warming up as a touring act again!
Glad someone made a bootleg as well; nice to relive it now and again!

That was probably one of the "idiots" who did not want to move...
I do not want any google ads here.

And, to answer the OP's question: no, unfortunately I wasn't there. Rome, a few days later.

I was there together with a friend, we flew in from the Netherlands and I still remember walking up to the entrance of Brixton Academy and saying "look, there's not much of a queue yet"... only to find out we had to walk alongside the entire building, turn left, walk alongside the entire backside of the building, turn left again, and then be the last two guys in the row over there (we weren't the last two for very long, fortunately).
The concert was just great, it was my first one at BA and I took some time to get used to the downwardsloping standing area. We had a great night!
