Well, yes and no - a bootleg taper would surely have got a better recording a little way back rather than standing front and centre. I find the sound can sometimes be more distorted up close - possibly due to the volume its hitting your ears at.
In fact the video recording of the show is nicely positioned a little way back.
To be honest - I was just frustrated that there were clear gaps in between people in which my friend and I could have moved to get the better atmosphere at the front, but people got genuinely angry, and a couple of older guys even manhandled us for trying to get a good spot. Its not like we were pushing or anything; just moving through the gaps.
As it worked out there was more freedom off to the left of the stage at the front where the toilets are, so we wandered that way, and had a good time with the people around us.
I ended up with some father and son with their arms around me giving it sways to WATC - lovely moment of people getting into the music and having fun!
Enjoyed myself more than the grumps anyway Im sure! :)

Overlooking the fact that you have rudely dismissed the people who DID answer you, the concert was two years ago - haven't you had any other excitement in your life since? Nah - this was well before the place had filled up - there were still loads of people queueing to get in, and therefore there was no squashing at the time.
I just wish people would be polite about it- I was just moving through saying excuse me anytime I had to brush past someone, and a couple of people were very rude; Londoners they were actually - gave me a very bad impression of our capital. lol.
Anyway, in the spirit of all getting on, and given its been like 3 years, I forgive the miserable people.
Good show. Roger looked like he was going to die after Im In Love With My Car; he looked completely knackered - guess he just need to get his match fitness back. hehe.

I went,on the whole a good show,apart from the terrible opening when they played ALL song 13 off Made in Heaven.That did not help at all,wait all that time to see them and the build up is about 20 minutes long?Agree about the crowd,I am in my thirties but was well up for it but a lot of people around me where to busy comparing old for new that they didn't just relax and enjoy it for what it was.

Thats probably what it was with the crowd - I did meet a few ace people who were really enjoying themselves though I suppose!

I remember enjoying songs from Paul's catalogue more than I was expecting, and being delighted to hear '39 and a couple of others as well as the more predictable numbers.
Being a fan of Back to the Light, I was also surprised, but very pleased when Brian started Last Horizon - I remember thinking he was just teasing around for a minute with it, but then he went and played the whole thing - lovely piece of guitar. :)
