The buzz about town is a terrorist cell might be in the US planning a summer attack. Of course, they could be anywhere in the world planning multiple attacks, but who's to know?
So, will you alter your summer travel plans or will you go about your business as intended?

The simple answer is no not at all because thats exactly what these terrorists want to happen. They want to try and "rule" us by using fear as a weapon. Not on in my opinion.
As far as I know, we've all been under constant terrorist menace since 9/11/2001. Can you imagine what if everybody from New York had stopped using the subway afraid of new terrorist attacks? It would've been an excellent target... But it's been nearly 6 years, and nothing. Instead, after 9/11 we had attacks in Madrid and London. And more recently, an attack in Glasgow and an attempt in London. So, you can't guess when and where the next attacks will be, you have to pretty much stop doing everything. You'd have to move to a small and unimportant town in the countryside, never take a train, never take a plane, and never even consider going anywhere near a major city or any other important area in your country. And I bet the terrorists would be really happy to see people getting scared to that point.
Like Ramirez said, I think the best to do is keep living our lives normally and show those idiots they aren't as important and scary as they would like to be.

Nobody's threatened to kill me for having a nice summer as of yet. And seeing how they operate, I'm more worried about the counter-terrorists than the real deal. They're the same thing, really, difference being that the authorities WON'T try to stop the counter-terrorists. Brazilians are advised not to travel to London, and if they must, they should definitely NOT make a run for a train when they're about to miss it...
Oh, and the British should steer clear of Amsterdam. They're so fed up with misbehaving British tourists that many hotels are now blocking them from entering. And this being Amsterdam, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd beat them up in the hotel lobby with very large dildos purchased in the sex-shop next door.

I will kill you for having a nice summer TQ. :) While I'm here in winter.
Does 'British' include 'Australian'?

I don't think so. Or do you Aussies regularly defecate on hotel beds, tear off the wallpaper, stuff the toilet completely full of empty beer-cans and/or use the carpet as fuel? Mind you, I'm naming only some of the kinds of behavior demonstrated recently.
Not to worry about my summer, by the way. So far, it's been wet, windy, packed with thunderstorms but thankfully not cold (though not very warm either, because of the amounts of clouds), so you needn't be too jealous :P

I agree completely and have been saying this to everyone since 9/11. However... now that I'll be traveling this summer, I'm not feeling so sure of myself. It's not just me who will be traveling - that would be different. I'll be with my family - parents, grandparent and daughter. If anything happens, four generations of my family are wiped out. As much as it scares me, it also pisses me off that these bastards have even that much control.

i will be traveling to caymans this summer, and most likely will transfer thru NYC. id like to not think about some possible doom. my anxiety has been bad enough already.
and notice they only attack in summer? whats the matter terrorists, too cold for winter?
anyway, as everyone else said, just go about your days. theyre just bullies. their schemes will fizzle out eventually, especially seeing how they have failed miserably recently.

I don't know what the color code threat level is for 'gut feeling', so I'm gonna ignore it, just like I started to ignore all the propaganda BS over the past four years.
It's just another Orwellian attempt to get our minds off all the mischief OUR government continues to try and pull off.

Nothing will change for me. I will go day to day living my life as I usually do. I'm not scared. And I won't let them make me feel scared.
Besides looking at colleges...I think the only summer plans I had anyway only involved me traveling from the couch to the pool, lol.
I wish I had big travel plans...and if I did I defintitely would not let that stop me! You gotta live life to the fullest.
(That last statement sounds funny coming from me.)
I remember when we had a "terrorist" threat on a cruise ship we took to Hawaii 4 years ago. Yes, it turned out to not be actual terrorists, just some stupid lady. But all the commotion added excitement to our trip. Yes, we had to miss our first stop at the rainiest city in the U.S. (Hilo) to go directly to the capital so the Coast Gaurd and army could board the ship (the note found in the bathroom said that if we made our first stop and did not turn around, the ship would blow up), but this still ended up being possibly the vacation I went on. I wasn't bored for a minute. And that probably sounds terribly wrong. I'm definitely not praising the actions of the person who made the threat. At the time we were really pissed off. I'm just saying, it added thrill. Thank God it wasn't real.
Argh, I hope that doesn't sound twisted.I know if it was a real threat, we'd be dead and it'd really suck. I guess what I'm saying is that you can still make the best of a bad situation? I actually don't know what I'm saying. Let's go to Hawaii.

I'll be scared when the bomb goes off.
Fuck you terrorists.

I wish I could take you guys with me - for encouragement as well as entertainment. :-)
Besides, now that the 'gut feeling' has been rescinded, any of us who were disturbed by the ominous warning, can feel security and comfort in our government's capable hands.
Right.
