A sad thought, mfm....

a drunk driver could run a red light or through a median, and smash the vehicle you and your family are riding in...

and, the drunk will survive, while....

You take precautions in those situations. As to flying, the messages over the loudspeakers at the airports (English and Spanish) that are from '1984' to make you fear for your life, all of this after driving the interstates with their 'report suspicious behavior' BS.......ignore that.

Enjoy the time with your family. Enjoy your trip. Flip a finger towards the Big Brotheresque speak.

There's nothing to fear, but life itself.

Oh. Great. So more gets past them in the big airports, huh? Well, that's comforting...

This line kinda unraveled the comfort quilt you were making for me. You know that, yes? :-/

Who's gonna bomb Perth, Western Australia?

Although now you mention it I never liked Nedlands or Dalkeith...or Claremont.

exactly. anything can kill you, your own fingernail or an air conditioner falling on out a window and on your head. instead of living in fear, we just live. its not your time to go, but it never hurts to be careful. the cocky ones are the ones who suffer in the end. and thats what i learned this summer :)

*rant* just a sidenote, i think its a bit ridiculous on the precautions taken at airports. taking nail clippers away? has it occured to them that a pencil can be a weapon? someones own hands could be a weapon? and apple juice can be a bomb? anything is dangerous. next thing you know they wont let you take clothes with you because some psycho choked someone with their sleeve. *end rant*

the only thing i might be worried about is the passport crap >.< oh and whoever said the stuff about their recent trip on what to bring, i appreciate it for letting us know :) i have always traveled light, and im glad i made it a habit. besides, most of the time, places youre traveling to has the things you need, so there isnt much to worry about. i say bring a doctors note if they give a hard time about medication. i havent heard reports of that yet, but i dont doubt its happened.
