It sure was. The show we always thought was October 16 actually happened on October 18, so Jailhouse was indeed played on the second night. :)

Hey Sir Bob,
so is this the same Puebla-date you offer some month ago?

Nope... the one I shared was a 2-source mix of the first night, Oct 17.

because anyone with half a brain, downloads the lossless flac and converts to mp3 FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY.They get both that way.
Can't do it your way.
What you are doing is making it easy for the MANY MANY "i havnt got a clue what i'm doing members" to pollute the trading pool after they burn to CD.
Are you still on a 56k connection or what??THATS when mp3 was a useful share.

I don't complain at all. I just say that MP3 is bad. I don't need to download the shows since I have them in lossless quality already.

I know I had some harsh, probably unfounded words for you in the Houston thread, 928, but I've got to agree with you here. If a new show surfaces and MP3 is the ONLY format it exists in, ok, share the MP3. Even then, someone out there has the original tape, and the person responsible for posting it probably knows who--the lossless is out there.
I listen to MP3s myself. 320kbps, but still MP3. That said, every time you convert lossless files to lossy, you lose something. Say the first guy to get the lossless files converts them to 320 kbps MP3s. He deletes the FLACs, and his buddy wants him to send over the show, so he does. The buddy gets it and converts the files to 128s (which sound more like 96s because of the previous loss of data). Then he's the first to share the files on the internet.
The problem used to be the generation of the tape. MP3s simply replicate that generation problem. Every time you convert a file to MP3, you lose data. If you convert it to a lower compression, or even to WAV and back, you lose even more data, and the problem is compounded by the first conversion.
That's why I listen to MP3s, but I prefer to get lossless files. If it's uploaded by a reputable individual who has checked it and can confirm the lossless, then I know I'm going to get 320kbps MP3s (after converting from FLAC) that sound like 320kbps MP3s. I've gotten 192s that have been converted back and forth so many times that they sound like they're coming off of AM radio. By that point, it's almost not worth keeping the files. They're big files that sound like crap, and dropping them to the 96kbps range will only result in a further loss of data.
And that, my friends, is why MP3s have no place in the trading pool.
I'm going to go beat my head against a wall now.

Thank you for these concerts LRTIGER we who aren't fussed whether it's mp3 or flac really appreciate it, and i think it shouldn't matter what quality it's in it's the thought of sharing that counts.
I can understand that MP3 isn't to be traded. But in here we share files, and any file that's of interest to me is welcomed. Flac/wav/dvd is great, but when a great show I'm looking for is shared in MP3, I love it too.
....and no new shows in FLAC for some time now

Well... what can I say? Sorry for being thrilled when I downloaded some great gigs here...
The problem is not mp3,the problem are the motherfucker that DO NOT understand or do not have the capacity to understand that we are all different and have different tastes,I have FLAC and mp3 at home but prefer mp3,COS I WANT IT!-
And after reading things like "stop polluting the trading pool" or "ban mp3" I can clearly see the IQ from some members here so it is useless to discuss with that people.
I am not sharing NEW shows I just RE POSTED shows that have been going round for MONTHS or even YEARS,if you do not post things in mp3 here that does not mean that it will dissapear, someone will do it somewhere else and mp3 will be alive till it becomes old fashioned not because some ignorant narrow minded people from QZ wanted this, try to ban mp3 it is like trying to ban pornography or file sharing thru internet,so do not be ridiculous. And who are you to do so,the rulers of the web????.
I just only see DO NOT POST OFFICIAL MATERIAL,not DO NOT POST MP3,so I think posting mp3 it is not forbidden in this forum I guess. So the fact that some jerks like FLAC does not mean we can not do it,JUST IGNORE MP3 POST and it will be ok,so I repeat I am just RE POSTING very well known shows in mp3 for some people that missed them,if I (or somebody else)do not do it here someone will "pollute" the web somewhere else.
Conclusion mp3 it is not a problem,it is a choice for many people that just want it because we are all DIFFERENT,I do not think you are smarter for listening to FLAC(or are you?)it is not that you like or hate mp3,I think it is just people that the only way to show their frustration in life it is just entering a forum and critisize everything and try to set their own rules.GO LISTEN YOUR FLAC! let us choose what we want and do not disturb please...
PS:For all the people that like FLAC,I am still waiting for the so promoted FLAC INVATION from last year, where is it?.
Anf for the people that like Queen(no matter if it is mp3,FLAC,DVD,cassette or whatever)I have many boots and some rare things I have collected for 15 years or more(I am sure when I started doing so some of these FLAC geniouses were still crawling),If you want to swap or just want a show let me know and I will send them to you thru mail or msn cos QZ does not seem to be a good place for music nowadays...how I miss the days we I just join QZ and really enjoy it for the quality of the members that there were here.
*sighs*

Glad to hear you've finally explained yourself so articulately and in such detail.
someone will do it somewhere else and mp3 will be alive till it becomes old fashioned not because some ignorant narrow minded people from QZ wanted this
Preferring good quality = narrow-minded...? Wow, that's a good one...
Sure, people can do it somewhere else, but in virtually every other major artist's trading community, those people are in the minority. With Queen traders, it's far from it. Zeppelin, Stones, Beatles, Sabbath, Dead, and pretty much all other collectors got past this argument about 5 years ago, leaving mp3 supporters in the dust. Look at how many new recordings of these bands pop up every year on Tape City, Dime, TTD, etc. Ever wondered why so few new Queen recordings turn up?
how I miss the days we I just join QZ and really enjoy it for the quality of the members that there were here.
Did you ever think that maybe people have left this forum because there are no quality standards??
Maybe one day you'll get in touch with a collector who has an uncirculated Queen recording from 1976... and after they tell you they won't trade or share the recording because, I quote, "someone from Queenzone will convert it to mp3", then maybe you'll finally understand.
Until then, enjoy your Nth gen lossy copy of New Jersey 82, and some hoarder can enjoy that new recording from 1976 that we could have had by now if it wasn't for people like you!
It is not a matter of taste but a matter of quality.
Yesterday I visited U2torrents. Many shows and all in flac. People over there talk about the quality and they now what they're doing. Over here many fans are clueless about these things. I was too , 3years ago but by reading the posts of collectors on this forum I got to understand the world of unofficial recordings. And the reason why FLAC is better than MP3 or other lossy files.
When a show is uploaded in MP3 that I do not have , I just don't download it because I know I will be getting a shitty copy.
And about the flac attack:knebworth, chicago'80 from the master, chicago'78,10-24-1982 from the master, puebla, buenos aires 1st gen audience, tokyo'85,leeds'82,liverpool'75, newcastle'79, edinburgh'82,...
All wonderful recordings shared the last year. What more do you want?
I had an MP3 copy of some of these shows and the difference is enormous.
