Probably taking the piss because there are a lot of arrogant ellitist ingrates on this forum who, rather than say thank you (or nothing at all)for making an effort to post, would rather be rude and nasty because the file is not available in a losless format.
The whole concept of losless formats is quite silly when dealing with audio that is usually shitty anyway. I own an audio / video store and laugh at people who claim they can tell the difference between medium and high bitrate mp3's. They are guessing, but I guess it makes em feel good to think they can, like they know something.

You're obviously don't know what you're talking about. This is a show which IS available in lossless format and SHOULD stay lossless.
If you want mp3 version of this concert, download the original and create the mp3s yourself. It's THAT easy. People who own these once rare shows take big care to keep their "product" in the best possible version, or at least in the version THEY want and the simplest thing you can do is respect their wish. One big word - preserving . If "they" see you are mentally able to do it, there's a chance that "we" get again new shows, otherwise there's a big chance they'll keep their recordings for themselves, as Sir GH wrote, and he obviously knows what he's talking about.

Yes, the audio is usually shitty, so why do you want to encode it into a shitty format ?
And if you can't tell a difference between a medium bitrate mp3 and a high bitrate mp3, and maybe a lossless file, you need a better hearing device, that's the only thing I can tell you. Even the biggest mp3 lovers hear a difference between 128kbps and 320kbps

Yes, the audio is usually shitty, so why do you want to encode it into a shitty format ?

Create FLAC files from 128 and 192 kbps mp3s, and I guarantee you, I'll be able to pick out which is which... as long as they were only mp3s once. If they're second and third time mp3s, then of course they could have been anything. No hiss reduction, and no other funny business. It's a genuine, friendly challenge... just so it can be proven to you that people *can* hear the difference.
Just because you can't hear the difference doesn't mean you have to laugh at those who do. I bet your customers are the ones laughing at you, because they're certain they know better than the guy working at the store.
