The Call...On the new album?

Hi folks,

Anyone check out Brians website today?

someone mentioned about The Call being on the new album. Brian said it was worth thinking about.

I think this would be a great idea. remember, it probably wouldn't be released in its current form, the speech would probably be replaced with another verse, and then whatever after that. i think it will be interesting to see what they can do with it. i doubt very much they will stick the old studio version on the CD. it will almost certainly be re-recorded.

anyway....opinions!!!

*sigh* With all due respect for Brian and this composition ( let's call it that), which at the time suited the 46664 event, I'll have to second this.

ok, i understand what people mean about it fitting the 46664, but doesnt anyone think musically it's quite a good song.

I must say, I actually like The Call very much. When I first heard it I thought it was easily the best of the 46664 tracks. Red Special sounded great as always, and there's nothing wrong with the music overall, IMO. And since English isn't my first language, I don't really mind the lyrics (which seem to be the problem for many of you).

But still, I don't think it would be a good idea. The Call was perfect for the 46664 cause, but let's leave it to that. QPR is "the new thing".

I like that song but I wouldn't listen 'The Call' on new QPR album.

The Call was recorded during 46664 sessions and I hope we will see the '46664' studio album one day including that song on track list.

It does belong with the 46664 stuff. But when is it gonna surface? Only a loose copy got banded about recently because we have such nice QZ'ers! Apart from some of the speech bits, I could really see a rocker replacing it like a Freddie sounding vocal. Ah well...

I know people are getting sick of me saying this - but I love 'The Call' so any news of it makin the Q&PR album is fantastic 'fingers-crossed' news for me!

Is the call considered to be music? I think it's dogshit...

I like this song. The music is cool and the political lyrics are nothing groundbreaking but still fab, especially in 2007.

A eventual participation of the song on the new album is a great opportunity to spread it `s message`s to even more people, than as part of the 46664 project.
Every UN poverty report is the prove that we still need such songs with a social critical content. It`s one little step/atempt to make this world a better place for all individuals.

I like this song too - I think it really rocks and still has that 'Queen' sound. This, Say its not true and Invincible hope are all great songs. Whilst the other two are more general, The Call is definitely more suited to the 46664 event. If it was rerecorded with more general lyrics rather than the rant it could be good but I doubt they would do it

I think the 4 46664 songs (including Amandla) should stay as their own event - now confined to history.

probably it would be a nice b-side.
I hope that all the new songs will be better than this one.
