There is virtually no distortion despite the high sound pressure. There is some occasional nearby audience chatter and clapping, but it is not excessively intrusive at all. You also hear the good acoustics of the Boston Music Hall, and as Queen live sound mixes always pushed the low-end hard there is some “boominess”, but this was the reality of the live show and the equipment used.
Every song in the set is included in this possible submission of MP3s, the only thing that is missing is the first 2 minutes of “Sweet Lady” which opened the show, due to some last moment problems engaging the reel-to-reel. Everything else is there besides the usual lively banter from Freddie and Brian.
I await permission from the Queen online store at

to submit the group of MP3s - I will post here when/if they are released.

You don't need permission to share it as long as you're not making money out of it and the people who download it from you are on the understanding that they can't make money from it either.
The whole purpose of Queen Online selling bootlegs is to stop bootleggers making money from their recordings.
They have stated before that they do not mind if you share what you have already bought from them as opposed to other people buying from them. Probably because either way the illegal bootleggers don't get any money.
This is why many people have shared bootlegs on this site and there has been no word of complaint by anyone.
One more thing, please share in Flac, that way no quality will be lost or if you have to share in MP3, please offer both if possible.
You will be making many, many Queen fans very happy, I promise you.

Well I am taken aback by all these posts I have read here. I will take into account all the wishes and technical advice I have read here.
I will go and re-read all the posts a number of times.
This recording is not spectacular, but is better than a number of the audience-based recordings I have heard. I am listening to it as I compose this and it is an entertaining listen overall. Queen definitely puts across a sharp set in this recording. “Doing Alright” is one of the high points. If I have my history correct, this may be Queen’s first gig in Boston, as when they were due to come here supporting Mott on their initial tour, Brian developed symptoms that were diagnosed as hepatitis in NYC.
Another highlight is “Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon”.
Also in reviewing the digital transfer tonight on headphones, my memory was refreshed on the microphone use in the balcony. It was definitely recorded with 2 high-quality mics yielding a sort of stereo spread. You can hear handclaps on one side for instance.
On the “fire marshal” comment: Freddie points that “… we have some smoke flares we will not have to use tonight because of someone called a ‘Fire Marshal’ so Merry Christmas to him”
And of course Freddie drinks a toast to Boston.
Sure, I'd love post this collection from the Boston Music Hall in a lossless format and have you all get it for free. But I have to step back and think.
Having done some work (in the past and present) for a number of quasi-famous bands who have released records on major labels I am sensitive to what I have heard them say about file sharing. And I have been entrusted by them in my handling of their composed material and soundboard recordings to not release it for all to grab for free. I am a recording engineer in my copious free time. Therefor when I come to this recording of Queen at the Boston Music Hall, well I hope you all understand that my mindset is different.
But I do need to consider what is said in these posts.
Let me see if I arrange some time to come with set of samples from the set that I can post to a YouTube file, with some pics that were shot at the ’82 Garden gig.
Apologies, again I am corrected, I did not know of the existence of that recording.
I do have some slides stashed away of the gig at the Music Hall and of the band at Strawberries signing NATO copies earlier in the day. If I can find them I will find some way to put those up for all to see.

Thanks James123. I think we all believe you now, don't take it personally. We are a rabid fanbase and get teased all the time with potentially exciting new rarities. (Remember last month's Assassin demo? It's quite funny now, looking back) Boston is my absolute favorite city in the world, so any show from there would be magic. (as a side note- magic night in Beantown tonight, we finally won the AL East!)

If it's on CD, then rip it to WAV and convert it to FLAC format (level 8) with "FLAC Frontend". Then make (100 mb max) Winzip files, and upload them to mediafire.com. That's it! If I'm not clear about anything, feel free to ask. That's what we're here for.

I understand your feelings towards this issue, but sharing this type of audio files is no big deal, and if you´re a Queenzoner you´ll know what i mean. It´s not soundboard, and it isn´t oficially released.
You can trade it with other person, and that person can upload it for us.
But it´s good to have standards in life.
