Well, I’m in a better mood than I was last night, so rather than try to go on another rant, I will calmly just ask you this, would you rather have mp3 or flac? I ask because I do not know what your preferences are. Listen, I just want to know is it so hard to ask people to download/upload lossless shows that they can then convert for themselves to mp3?

Also I still don’t know what you mean by banning mp3s is a form of censorship. All you did was repeat your original statement, rather than back up your claim. If you knew me, you would know that I regularly take part in anti-censorship petitions and other things of the sort, so I am not a pro-censorship guy, trust me. Using your book burning analogy, I could say that mp3s are actually censorship. Rather than completely burning a book, you are partially singeing a book, tearing out pages, and returning to the library in a nice “good as new” package. Any librarian will tell you a book in terrible condition is more frustrating to read than not having the book in the first place.

And personally if I were you using my quote in your signature, I would have gone with something that alluded to me as being a czar or a tyrant demanding that QZ obey my commands. I think that anyone not familiar with this thread would be perplexed when reading your signature, maybe you should include some context, or do the complete opposite and take it entirely out of context, just write “josedequeso wrote: To Mike Van, Wow you are one arrogant stupid fuck.” That’s what I would have done, but I am just a smart-ass American, so what the fuck do I know.

Oh my, is it so hard to understand? If a show, file or whatever is available in FLAC, please don't share it again in MP3. That's absolutely useless and it could lead to the sharing of lossy files disguised as lossless. This has happened here a couple of times and it's a big nuisance.

But – and that's my personal opinion – if someone has a show in MP3 format only, and this show hasn't been shared before in a lossless format, so don't flame him for sharing it on Queenzone. Of course, the file format must be described correctly, so that nobody is cheated.

Another case: If someone has a "new" or uncirculated show in lossless format, nobody can force him to share it for free, because it may be a valuable trading item. If he then offers a free download in MP3 format, we surely can beg him to share it in FLAC format, but the decision is up to him. It's still better to be content with what we can get than to start a nasty fight and piss him off.

Tell me, how in the hell is banning lossy-sharing considered censorship? Let's take a look at every other one-band-specialty music sharing board, presence, genesis-movement, yeeshkull, none of the members there have ever complained about censorship, partly because the members there are smarter than half of the users on Queenzone. And as a result of the quality control on these sites new recordings surface frequently, often a couple of times a month. They are not laughing about Queen's music, they are laughing because of the ignorant fucks that are on this website. They laugh for legitimate reasons, Queenzone is still in the 20th century and must adapt to the times. It is a waste of the technology we have to still share music in mp3. Everyone else on this board can ignore the fucking proverbial elephant in the room and be content with their 128 kbps mp3s, or you can actually take a moment to here the difference and step outside of QZ and take a look at the prosperity in the other trading communities.
