Boy, there are a lot of angry people here about a whole lot of nonsense...
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the Chuck Norris thing is a joke, does it?
Maybe I have misunderestimated the intelligence of some folks here....
Wow. You bring up politics, and some people just can't handle it, and turn into retards.
Now, I'll probably get crucified for putting down retards. On the contrary, I might be giving too much credit saying retards....not for everyone, but you know who you are, you're still frothing at the mouth.

I'd vote for Chuck Norris as long as he's willing to provide every American a lever that will play funny 'Walker Texas Ranger' clips.

Angry people? Who is angry here? Me and Microwave are having a healthy debate...there is no anger involved. Believe it or not, me and him do this frequently and we respect each other as debating partners. There is no anger here. I am not angry at him, and he is not angry at anyone else more than likely.

Yeah, sorry Haystacks. Satire is truly an under appreciated art.
History Girl, you are one of the most intellegent creatures to grace QZone, but you need to stop being part of the "Right on, Barb!" club... speaking of broken records. I merely pointed out what it took to be President and that I thought it was a poor joke... and you bring out the Spanish Inquisition.
*pause* *cue Python here*
When all is said and done (six days later after completely reading your posts) all we've got are some damn funny German jokes and what I THOUGHT was a great Chuck Norris reference. Any Chuck Norris reference is a plus.
But an Ugly American? Ok, if you say so.
As for the other 75%? Yeah, it is a mixture of things, so I probably held your ancestor down in some way as well. Sorry about that, no hard feelings, eh?

Merkel was a member of the official, socialist-led youth movement Free German Youth. I'm sorry, I thought that was an underground Communist movement to oppose Hitler.
You're right, I must have my facts wrong. You being in Germany could tell us what the FDJ was all about then?

I am here for you Katie. Sweet Katie.
I am here for you Katie. Sweet Katie.
I think Bush is actually hurting any Republican of winning in 2008. The endless sex scandals don't help either. Not Bush but certain members of the Republican Party. It's really the Democrats race, but they can easily screw it up. But as an Independent voter, I'm not happy with the pool of candidates both parties have to offer.

Here here. (Sorry, I'm joking!!)
Yes, what appears to be hurling of iron balls and fireballs, is not that. I freely admit, I use satire to the fullest extent, when providing arguments or evidence on my behalf. Can I be abrasive and over-the-top? Yes, trade secret, sorry.
But please don't interpret that as actual anger! I would love to sit down with HistoryGirl, Barbara, heck even ThomasQuinn for an hour and discuss anything BUT Queen. We're a pretty varied group of people, and what would be more interesting than that?
Throw in Greg Brooks, John Stuart, and a few bottles of Crown and we're having a good time!

tubular.
Ok, Katie.
On this thread you really have to jump in. So what do you see as the controversial issue in the upcoming democratic presidential campaign? Would you say the streamlined channelling of campaign contributions has clearly hurt the democrats or simply given them a fresh approach to the detrimental activities of past candidates and steered them to a new direction?

**laughes** If you don't confess I will bring out... the comfy chair! **end Python cut**
A fellow Python fan I see...greetings to another with good taste in comedy :-)
I realize that what I typed looked like some kind of huge, angry rant or something, but it was not one. I tend to have a dry, witty sense of humor that doesn't translate well into the written word on the internet. But I love debating with people (as demonstrated frequently on this forum) and that means I really get into it. I am very much a Scholastic in that regard: Take everything apart, point by point, analyze and scrutinize, then wait for reply. Repeat process until debate has ended or blows are exchanged...depending on who the debating partner is (though I never strike first)
I bring out all guns with people that I know can handle it...and Microwave is one of those people. Because I want to challenge them and be challenged in return. I don't fully support anyone all of the time...it depends on the case. I'm very slow to make judgments on who to support.
As far as the ancestry thing goes...we've all held each other down at some point in history. History is a long time, and as long as there are more than two people on this planet we will continue to have conflict. In the end it doesn't really matter. But the debating is fun.
*goes off in search of pillows for the return of the Spanish Inquisition*
