[QUOTENAME]ruth.olivier wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Well, personnally, I wouldn't mind taking part of a vine for audio too, do you think it would be complicated to do ?

Yes - it might get complicated.

It would be easier to do it on Rapidshare and change the password every once in a while to keep out the mp3 riff-raff.

I ran a bootleg vine a few years ago, and it took a lot of time to manage it.

These are the disadvantages of a vine that I have experienced:

1 - Overseas shipping sometimes takes 3 weeks or more.

2 - Shipments within the same continent (but between different counties) takes longer than a week.

3 - Shipments sometimes get lost / stolen in the mail.

4 - Shipments sometimes get damaged in the mail.

5 - A few people will accept the package, but not continue the vine (and not answer e-mails).

6 - Some people need to be reminded to burn and mail the package within one week's time to keep the vine moving.

It's hard to say if you've got the best versions of some, since you haven't posted the screenshots. But I can be pretty sure that your copies of Hammersmith 75, Earls Court 77, and Houston 77 are the best out there at the moment.

London 79... complete? Methinks you copied the setlist from the CDs, as there isn't a complete video out there that I know of.

I thought that also.
I think I have the same one he does.
Mine also has the alternate edit on GDML and is only one disc.
I don't know of any two disc version circulating, but my knowledge is limited.

As for people no recieving packages and no sending them along, I believe that as long as some people that know the comunity are involved we can deny known bad shares entrance in the vine.
And of course if you do it once, forguet about entering a second vine.

Buenos Aires looks great. There is one version with a better picture, but cropped to 16:9 from Snow Producciones.

Hyde Park - I don't remember my copy being so dark, but I can be wrong.

Hammersmith Odeon 1975 - if it is from the "Christmas Eve at Hammersmith"" bootleg, it's the best "commonly available" version, but not the best existing.

Hammersmith Odeon 1979 - it looks like the best version. DQA version is more complete, but looks worse.

Munich 79 - is it YV's version ? Because it looks great.

Sao Paolo 81 - looks better then my version.

Tokyo 79 - looks better then my version

I say to hell with Snow Producciones! :P In my opinion this is the best version of this video.
[QUOTENAME]pittrek wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Hyde Park - I don't remember my copy being so dark, but I can be wrong.
I’m not sure about this version, I got my copy from The Traders Den, the screenshots are from the night portion of the show, maybe that’s why it’s so dark.
[QUOTENAME]pittrek wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Hammersmith Odeon 1975 - if it is from the "Christmas Eve at Hammersmith"" bootleg, it's the best "commonly available" version, but not the best existing.
Yep, “Christmas Eve at Hammersmith” is my version, I got mine through a trade. I know it was shared here but apparently that version is corrupt based on the comments I’ve read in that thread. But what do you mean by "best existing"? Is the better version circulating or just known to exist?
[QUOTENAME]pittrek wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Hammersmith Odeon 1979 - it looks like the best version. DQA version is more complete, but looks worse.
I don’t know about this video. I hope there’s an upgrade out there. I got this one again through a trade, the DQA version is listed on Bob’s site as being the best available. I’ve never seen the DQA version, so I can’t comment on that.
[QUOTENAME]pittrek wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Munich 79 - is it YV's version ? Because it looks great.
Yep, the version shared here about a week ago.
[QUOTENAME]pittrek wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Sao Paolo 81 - looks better then my version.
Another one I got through a trade. I think it comes from a TV broadcast because of the voice-overs. The major flaw to me is that the video is kind of “grainy.” I’m not sure if a clearer and more pristine version is out there. Of course, the original broadcast could be the cause of the graininess.
[QUOTENAME]pittrek wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Tokyo 79 - looks better then my version
I dunno, I guess mine’s the best version, it’s NTSC, just under 1 GB. That’s good for only 24 minutes of footage.

I have London 11-19/20-74 and the QTV versions of Paris 3-01-79 and Caracas 9-27-81 coming in, so I’ll post some screens when I get those as well. The Caracas version I have now is the one that Marknow shared here, which is lossy. I don’t think the Rainbow 74 video can be included in this vine since it’s official.

Touched on earlier in this thread, it would take a while to send between continents, so my idea is to have a North American leg and a European leg.

So, to sum up, anyone with better quality video is more than welcome to contribute. And as I said before, I’d like to include some post-81 footage, but I have no pro-shot from that period. Any help?

There are not many post 81 pro shot concert videos as you know - just Japan 82 and 85 and Rio 85. The 2 Japan concerts cannot be shared on QZ because they are official, Rio is available but I have yet to see a nice copy, mainly the sound is usually not so great.

Your Hammersmith 79 screen shots look nice, it's hard to compare versions from just a screen shot when the difference is not so big. I share the Digital Queen Archive version in the hub and I can torrent it if anyone is interested.

Sao Paolo - could you give us some more info, for example file size? I posted some info about South America DVDs here

http://www.queenzone.com/queenzone/forumnew/forum_topic_view.aspx?Q=1013526

somehow the thread died but perhaps you can compare your Sao Paolo DVD with what I posted there.

You are right about the European and American leg, that is very useful. We had a DVD tree on queen traders.com which ran criss cross across the continents with only very few people involved. You can look up the old QZ bootleg tree thread which was very good but required a lot of work and patience to keep it running over 6 months.

Also, I think you get more feedback in the Sharing forum. Would you accept leaves (i.e people who have no DVD burner and just receive DVDs at the end of the sending process)?
I do not want any google ads here.

No way... that's definitely lossy. 24 minutes should be about 2Gb if it's lossless. I've got the same copy. On my widescreen TV, the picture looks very digitized and grainy.
Ideally, we'll need a lossless copy of this and The Champions documentary, because there are a few clips from this show on there as well:
Now I'm Here, band intro, BoRhap, Sheer Heart Attack, WWRY (different angles), and God Save The Queen.
[QUOTENAME]pittrek wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Hammersmith Odeon 1979 - it looks like the best version. DQA version is more complete, but looks worse.
Indeed. Looks like this one needs a compilation too.
Sao Paolo 81 - looks better then my version.
I've got a nice compilation of this one from two or three sources. It'd be great if someone could synch the better audio to it!

Looks like we need a few compilations... Buenos Aires 3-1-81 too, as we've discussed, with the better audio.

Good times are ahead.

Well said :-) The guy definitely knows how to restore video, but for some unknown reason he usually starts from a DivX/VCD source and/or uses a crappy mpeg2 encoder, and he usually crops and resizes the video to 16:9.

Yes, if it's the tradersden version, it's the best version around. I have created a compilation of this version (cropped to 16:9) and the parts from the ANATO anniversary DVD, but I'm not 100% satisfied with it, it needs more work.

I have created a compilation, with using this video, filling the gaps from a OGWT SVCD bootleg provided by SirGH, and using the full OGWT intro (the famous "star kicker") from a Rolling Stones bootleg. During SSOR you will see information about the concert, during SWAFIB you will see a photo slideshow taken from the original Killer Queen video, and during GSTQ the original closing credits of the OGWT broadcast. This complete video is synchronised with a compilation of best audio sources, for the first time 100% complete, including for the first time ALL Christmas references, and FULL audience "gaps", of course lossless. I thought it's finished, but when I watched it yesterday I noticed some audio delay on Ogre Battle and KYA (nothing major, just a few frames delay, but I want to do it as good as possible :-) ), and a big misstake - I wrote that Brian took inspiration for GSTQ from the british national "theme" :-( (BTW can anybody tell me how is it called correctly in english ? )
When I repair it, I could "maybe" add it as my input to the vine.

Coitanly! My version is 3.34 GB, it’s the same one you described in the link you provided.

Are you talking about synching it with the FM broadcast that was shared here? The broadcast sounds great. I was contemplating doing it, but I have almost no computer skills, perhaps someone else can do it.
[QUOTENAME]pittrek wrote: [/QUOTENAME] I am searching for a copy of Paris 1st March 79 which looks comparable to http://www.webalice.it/pikkololuca/latojavaparis.htm
I have only a version of Smitty's project, which looks much worse and Snow Producciones's version which I don't want to comment :-)
That’s probably the version we’d want, I don’t know how my version will look. I’ve seen screenshots and it doesn’t look as good as the ones on the site.
[QUOTENAME]pittrek wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Hm, maybe add the 16 camera version of Budapest ? Or the full version of the Tribute concert ? Or Ro ck In Rio ?
That would be nice :)

So, we all agree on Munich 79, Earl’s Court 77 and Houston 77 as being the best versions out now (not counting 928's version of Houston 77). Hammersmith 75 and 79 need a compilation made and then synch it up to best lossless audio. Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires need lossless audio synched to it. And…what about Caracas 81?

Also, any volunteers on making these compilations and synching up the audio?

Hammersmith 75 is (almost) done.
I have no problem to synching the rest if someone gives me the "assets"
