I think the music is pretty good (with some false notes here and there) but the vocal isn't really great.
Any constructive criticisms gratefully received.

I suppose that I should expound...
The vocals are out of time, and out of tune. Musically, there are some good parts, but, you see, I am pretty well a perfectionist, as well as a paid professional musician myself.
Anything amiss drives me completely nuts. That said, there are a few intervals that are vocal free that are decent.
In checking out the website, I kind of meant what I said. The gear is cool. The playing on the tracks on your site? To me, spotty. If you're gonna rip off the best, you'd better have the chops to do it justice.

Hey Mike, Sounds like you had a fun time making that track.. and thats what its all about! Nice drum programming.. you managed to capture some of RT's idyosysyncracies. Your vocal is a bit hot in the mix.. crank those guitars up.. Brian would! Maybe a tad of pitch shift on your vocal would help smooth things out +- 8 or so cents on either side. You got guts to leave it as raw as it is, everyone hides behind auto-tune these days. I enjoyed your site and all the guitar related stuff. Great little snippets of guitar solos etc. I think youve definatley captured the spirit of Brian May.

Well, you know, there's a nice overall -sound- on the recording.
But yeah, like someone else said, vocals are higher than everything else. I'd want to do something with that tingy snare. Bit machine-gun like for my liking.
It's a nice cover and while I share the feeling about the vocals, it was pretty nice. But yeah, the vocal is a tad high and a little "essy". Needs a de-esser.
Wish I had proper ac30 gear! Anyway, great to hear. I wish I could submit something but my hands are tied...*groan*

Mike, your drum programing is fine, you still managed to capture the feel of it all being played "off the floor". I think your voice may be more suited to singing a song Brian sung. Freddies style, attitude and delivery are in a class all to themselves, In my opinion he could make even the weakest of Queen songs tolerable because of his delivery.
By the way.. you got all those wonderful guitars, tube amps and analog pedals! That old 16bit O2R is killing your tone. ( i know,.. i have two of em sitting in storage gathering dust).

Stranger things have happened! But seriously, it's not impossible to hear a difference with an MP3. BUT...yes, an mp3 can mask things, unfortunately. I have an mp3 of a cover I've done and while the mp3 sounds fine, the uncompressed wav sounds slightly sharp-ish. MP3 is a bit of a quandry!

Adam, my comments about 16bit were based upon the type of mixer he is using in his studio. (as per Mikes website). They were not specificaly aimed at the quality of that song. (i should have made myself more clear on that).

ezee, no worries I didn't take the comment as a dig. It just surprised me that someone could here the degradation that 16bits (over 24 bits) gives when listening to the 16bit file when lossy compressed (i.e. MP3).
