Call me naïve, but I don't believe they're doing this to raise awareness of the new band, but to raise awareness of World AIDS day. Sure, there may be some underlying motive to test the waters, but it's primarily to promote their association with Nelson Mandela and 46664.
As Mr Faron Hyte has said, if all proceeds go to the 46664 campaign or to the MPT, then this is the right thing. I'm almost certain there will be a proper QPR single when the album is ready but, as Brian and Roger have said several times (yet most have missed), the album isn't ready yet, so 'Say It's Not True' isn't being used as a taster for the new album.
It's beyond me why people don't understand that...

Pim's idea is nice, but it's not what QPL are known for. (They are known for plugging WWRY everywhere, hence my prediction of three different live versions accompanying the single).

I would really love it if this wasn't a "tester" for the new album, but for the general public, the press, and the record company it really is, no matter how much you're trying to deny it. (There are a few thousand fans who would be happy to buy the harmonic farting of Brian & Rog, just as long as it came out under the Queen name).
This is going to be the first new "Queen" single in a decade after NOBY. This is the one that sets the tone for the band. Is it that good?
