But anyway, I would like to hear your expert opinion -- does the download and the CD sound exactly the same?
Once I get my hands on it I can compare it electronically to make sure, but I'm looking for a little info while I wait...[/QUOTE]
Accepted.
But as far as I know, this single can be ordered on-line from 'Queenonline.com', and can be shipped to anywhere in the world. So living in the USA (or anwhere else on the planet) should not be a hurdle.
I do not have my copy delivered yet - but when it arrives - I will certainly pass on anything else I can add.

I'm ordering it tomorrow. That's not the point. A sample would be nice so those of us not fucking blessed to live in goddamn Europe could participate in the fucking convo.
Ahh well. I'll have mine in a week or so.

I ordered my copy from Amazon UK as well, but it's still being 'prepared for shipment', and today is already the day it's supposed to be shipping out.
(Edit: it shipped a few hours ago)
If it's the same mix, I won't really care as much...just having it in lossless quality alone will be nice :)

I forgot to add one more fuck.
J7, we can't post anything official here, and I don't think that it is the place for posting something freshly official and new, even a snippet of it. Sorry.

Where'd you come up with that one? 30 or 45 secs of something would do no harm. Your attempt to create your own rules is charming however.

It is the same, but hey!!!! what the hell, it's for charity & owning an official hard copy is not bad at all :-)
Charity is ok.
But it was a PURE LIE from them to say they offer a new mix!

uhmmm i wonder why Brian mentioned a different mix then....maybe "different mix" = lossless version?
neah... at least in my dictionary

ok ... just received my copy today.
Seems the same mix, but the keyboards and guitars sound much clearer to me (hey, that was easy, all we had was a simple mp3!), and ... what follows is the main difference I´ve found, wich I really appreciate ... at last I´m not forced to turn down the volume when Paul joins the song !
Cheers everybody

Do the keyboard strings at the beginning still sound like something out of The Miracle sessions? That was a major let down and almost ruined it for me.
Still, the second half of the song redeemed it, even if the guitar arrangement is just "Brian by numbers" and the solo is as derivative as the one in Q+Robbie's Champions.

Have compared again different bits of the first section: yet, the keyboards are not a masterpiece work, of course, but now you can perceive them much clearer; the same applies for the guitars when Rog and Brian are singing.
And thru this last listen I did ... well, maybe it´s only me, because everybody is still complaining again about that, but now I feel that the weird "filter" on Rog´s and Brian´s voices has been softened. Their voices arrive more pure to me, now.
Just an advise: I´m a little bit cold so maybe my perception of reality is not that accurate, he he :)
What it´s a fact is that the volume (or power or whatever precise technical word is said) of the 2nd section has been turned down.
I liked it a lot the first time I listened to it in the mp3 download, but when I played it in a proper equipment (in my car), I always had to turn down the volume. But now it´s not the case, and the song flows good to me when passing from section 1 to section 2.
For those who cannot find the single in their usual stores, please note it´s the same case here in Spain, so I ordered it thru a well known online music store that offers a huge collection of Queen (or any artist) rare / collecting material. Taking advantage that for limited time they offer free postage, I ordered Say It´s Not True and a couple more Queen CD singles. Queenonline also offers this option, of course!
So anybody interested and with little patience can purchase it quickly.
best regards
