There is an interview with Brian's assistant Pete, he says Brian has used a Strat on the new album!! as he was searching for a specific sound that he couldn't get with the Red Special.

Sounds interesting!

For those that care it was a '54 body with a '55 neck, from Rogers collection.

Awesome!

Yes, it's always an eve when Brian do it...

ahahah
Specific sound he couldn't find on the Red Special? Hell has indeed frozen over!

I'm being facetious, there's more than a few sounds unique to the Strat - I just wonder which one in particular he's after.

Probably he was after a more generic guitar sound to complement Paul's voice, and take away the last remains of any "Queen" sound. ;)

...I can't wait.
I would go with a solo or maybe one song. and that wouldnt be the first time: crazy little thing called love, nothing but blue.

I cant see it being the entire album.
It certainly isn't the whole album !!! not sure where that came from? just a section of a song I'm sure.

Pete was unsure it would work at first with (I assume) Brian's normal set up, but it would seem that it worked perfectly and sounded fantastic.

It's an interesting interview, Pete's first job for Brian was to fix his son's scalextric set and then he went on to work on other wiring projects around the studio for Brian. Later he got to be Brian's assitant for a one off special show that Brian did where he needed to be on stage for just one song, after that the rest is history as they say.

I wish they could search for a specific thing they couldn't get with the "Queen" label and decided to change it :) (QPR doesn't count!)
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.
Hi Alex Rocks,

Are the answers:

Iron Maiden
Slade
Queen
Feeder
Nu Shooz?

Thanks,

The Voice.

Oh boo-fucking-hoo

Brian and Roger have ruined 'your' band.
I'm so sorry for your loss.

Neither is my band nor it's been ruined. But I stand by my statement.
