i dont like flat guy becoase its only freddie merc. and no other queen memembers
i love freddie mercury and his band queen and i hate it when people spel his name wrong
A kind of magic by far is the worst album put out by Queen.

There are 2 good songs on there, One Vision and WWTLF...that's pretty much it.

And the artwork for the LP didnt help either. Awful. Everytime I see those blue characatures of the band i want to rip my eyeballs out.
sorry, double post.

I find this album to be absolutely boring & uninspired. It contains two of their all time worst songs “Pain is so close to pleasure & “One year of love”
They couldn’t even make up their mind whether this should have been a soundtrack or not. At least with “Hot space” they tried something different, but here they simply went through the motions and ended up sounding like any other Euro-trash-Synth-Band of that era. This album is a complete embarrassment. Even the cover art is a joke!

I totally agree with that.

AKOM is Queen's MOST BORING album. Really, I would rather listen to Flash Gordon and -ironically- Live Magic, back to back. At least I get to listen to the crowd of Knebworth there.

I used to find Jazz boring, but I thought the same about Queen II's black side, back when I only had the vinyl and I couldn't tell when one song began, long instrumentals, etc. Now I like them, of course.

But really... A Kind of Magic is DULL!

JCW

AKOM... much worse than those two put together... at least tehy TRIED to do sth on FLASH and/or HOT SPACE... Every time I hear ONE YEAR or FRIENDS WILL BE... I can't believe musicians like Mercury or May could commit anything as bad...

I disagree. Just because he hits the high notes doesn't mean his singing is great. he's overdoing it IMO... style over substance

Made in Heaven... if that one counts. Aside from the emotional value, the record is just not as colourful as the other ones... a bit over-produced.

I can't decide! There's too many reasons why I like each album. Even the album Flash Gordon, I like listening to that music when I sleep. Haha. So I don't hate that album, and I like strange music like that anyways, I love 'The Kiss'.

I love all the albums in the 80s and 70s and 90s. If I was to choose one though, the one I love least musc be ummm.......... jee whiz, maybe News Of The World or Jazz.

1. Flash Gordon (if you count it)
2. Miracle
3. Hot Space
4. A Kind of Magic
5. Jazz

Waht type of a Queen fan are you if you put A kind Of Magic and The Miricle in your worst top 5 list.[/QUOTE]

One with good taste? :) I don't get the Miracle love lately. That was formulaic to a fault. Brian had a couple nice solos, but the writing was terrible.

I agree about the Jazz critizism though. I forgot about Works. That would be #5 not Jazz.

Don't get me wrong, I like all of these albums, but I can't think of 5 Queen albums that aren't better than these!
In PARTICULAR order...

1. AKOM- aboslutely the worst... two good songs, one taht could have been good- the rest is just TERRIBLE...
2. Flash..... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...
3. the works- production sucks big time; also they ried too hard to record sth that everybody will love... drum sound is AWFULL...
4. the miracle- Brian's guitar work is AWESOME, but that's about it... half of the songs (like party, khashoggi's, Hang On In There etc) are absolutely POINTLESS...
5. hot space- it wouldn't have been mentioned if the production was rockier... have nothing against funky sound, but listen to Purple's YOU FOOL NO ONE. If that album sounded liek taht (meaning- liek those versions from hot Space tour)- I'd LOVE this album...

Queen's worst album in terms of...

...production:

Jazz

...success:

Hot Space

...experimentation:

The Works

Of course, those are just my opinions.
"Fuck today, it's tomorrow." - Freddie Mercury
God.... well this is easier than choosing the BEST Queen album...

If live albums count, that would be Live Magic :S

If not, Flash Gordon, no question, it´s not a excuse that it´s a soundtrack, it still isn´t as brilliant as Queens other albums. But apart from those, it´s impossible to put albums into some order, because all the albums have their gems, and not so brilliant, but still great, songs.
I thought "The Works" sounded forced.
5) Hot Space
4) The Works
3) A Kind Of Magic
2) The Miracle
1) Flash Gordon
Hot Space?
