Queen + Paul Rodgers to debut new track on Al Murray

From QOL:

"One of these tracks, C-lebrity, will receive a sneak preview when the band make a by-demand return to the UK’s ITV Al Murray’s Happy Hour for the final show on April 4. "

It also mentions that "Say It's Not True" will be on the new album. There will also be a cover version on the new album, although it the press release does not mention what it is.

A cover version on the CD?? I wonder which song?.

Actually technically this isnt the first time they have done a cover version. As you all know they did GSTQ and The Wedding March....

To me "C-lebrity" sounds like a Roger song in which he takes another shot at stupid celebrities. Just speculating though, it could be from either three of them. I like this title.

Just speculating and with some imagination, I had a disturbing vision.

If it is indeed by Roger I imagine it could turn out like "Shove it" or "Nazis 1994" with Roger ranting over a given situation (Celebrity) and then Brian kicking in with the Red Special for a thunderous anthemic chorus (like SINT's trademark "Queen sound in a can") with Paul's voice soaring over a wall of generic Queen sound filler.

What was Brian's last trully GREAT melodic solo? In the last years all I've heard him play is the solo on Q+Robbie's WATC all over again. :S

the song could be Freaking Awesome!! :D

I would have thought the whole "completely different lead singer" would have been an indication that tradition is out the window with this project.

Queen never really stuck with tradition....they always tried new things...i mean hotspace wasnt really traditional was it?

I think it is great that they are doing a ocver version even though initially I was put off by it. Think about it. It will draw the interest of the public more so with whatever opinion that they have with this project.

So a studio cover on an album is not good, but Freddie singing Jailhouse Rock and a shitload of other songs from the '50s at every Queen concert ever staged is perfectly okay. Riiiiiiiiiight. How about you wait to hear it before you dump on it? There'll be plenty of time to dump on it then.

What about "Imagine"? They've played it live and I thought it sounded great and it seems to be as timely now as ever.
