kids at concerts.

i am hoping to get tickets for the secc,and i want opinions for taking my kids along.the 16yr old is no prob,he can see over everyone lol.but the 10yr old is a lot smaller.should i avoid the floor and try for balcony seats and should he have some ear protection.they have never been to a concert and assume that it is just like listening to the radio,but a wee bit louder.any advice would be good.

What about all the pot smoking, tit-flashing, and general mayhem? That happens a lot at Queen concerts. Cleveland was a an outright smokehouse.

Sorry, but I don't think Rock Concerts are for children. The 16 year old already smokes, so that's fine... unless you don't know about it.

And I can guarantee that the 10 year old would rather have their Hanna Montana Ipod going during the whole show.

Yes, I may sound a little crass, but I've been to a couple shows now where young children have pretty much ruined it for the entire section.

the 10 yr old is a wee rocker,likes acdc,deep purple.iron maiden.and he hates hanah montana lol.but likes drake and josh.

I saw a few kids at the Q+PR shows I went to in 2005 and 2006, and they didn't seem to have a problem. The audiences were very well behaved lots. I didn't see any tit-flashing, I don't remember smelling any herb being smoked, and I don't remember the band being painfully loud, and I was upfront or very close to it at every show I went to. Earplugs might be appropriate, but otherwise I'd say a Queen show would be fine for a 10 year old, depending on the 10 year old - and you know your's best.

i think my main two concerns are,will they be able to see and will it be to loud.small ear plugs would work but if we were sat far back the little one wont see anything.as for the boobs and dope,even in todays kids programes breasts are shown to a small amount. and as it is a non smoking arena(secc glasgow)that wont come into it.

It's a rock concert. It's going to be loud. I get the feeling that Q+PR is done with pyrotechnics--you'd think that if they were still interested in using them, they would have done so at some point on the 2005/2006 tour, or certainly at the VH1 show they did. That said, Brian's guitar solo will still be ear-splitting (especially if he does "Chinese Torture" again), and you're still going to be hit by a wall of sound.

Will it be too loud? I think that depends on your kids, and only you and they can judge what's "too loud" for them.

i saw my first queen-concert when i was 13 and i am glad i did

I took my daughter at that age in 1996 to see Def Leppard, and the support band (Terrorvision) was so loud she cried until we went home, so never got to see DL!! Be warned!!

If QPR come close enough to S.C. on the next tour, I want to take my 11 year old nephew to see them. He's always said his favorite band is Queen. Of course, this is no way, at all, influenced by his aunt and uncle. ;-) I doubt they will come near enough, but if they do, I'll bring earplugs for him. I have a feeling the kid will think he's a bad ass if he goes to a concert. ;-)

I have mixed emotions about it. Of course there is the fear of them being exposed to certain things BUT the main thing would be the sound level. Hell that's an issue with me at times. So defintely ear plugs for children, eh.
