I've got a version of "Keep Yourself Alive" on my iTunes library that I just listened to, and it sounds a lot different than the LP that I have. I'm wondering why that is? It's longer too, and just sounds different. I'm curious.

Thanks,

-Conor
I lost my old profile. I'm not new here at all.
What is the length of the ITunes version?

It's the "Long Lost Re-take" version, a bonus track on the 1991 Hollywood Records release.
MP3's are compressed files, they won't sound the same way they sound on CD.

Also, there are two studio versions of KYSA around. It sounds like you have the 'Long Lost' version.

EDIT: Erin beat me to it. LOL!

yeah i have em both and it sounds more like a 90's remaster as the drums sound 20 years a head of there time...

That's a magnificent album, of course.

Thanks! ;-D
To answer the other part of the question:
yes, the QueenI got remastered digitally in the early 90s. but as for being' thus it's not a real improvement.
furthermore you SHOULD look for the B-sides of the 'Made in Heaven'-singles. there are four songs from 'queenI' re-released and it's a difference like heaven and hell! personally i like the treatment on 'doin' all right' the most. the songs available in this context are:
My Fairy King
Keep Yourself Alive
Doin' Allright
Liar.

They are BBC session tracks.

Prince_tom,

Weren't they the BBC session recordings that were previously available on "Queen At The Beeb" and not the standard album cuts from "Queen"?
Benn
^ Yes i think Prince Tom means the versions from Queen Live At The BBC as its titled by Hollywood Records.
excuse me for this major mistake!
