Just got home after a 4 hour drive - went to Hannover & Hamburg this weekend. Both great shows with the band enjoying themselves. Brian joking about Roger's silver shoes etc.

German Queen Fanclub for some reason was allowed to enter 15 minutes early. People like Niek and me, who were there WAY BEFORE those people lost their first row place because of this.... Very VERY strange to see people arriving at 4 o'clock while we've been there since 12 o'clock - and yet THEY get the first chance to enter...

Not to even BEGIN talking about some of the 'moves' some people seem to enjoy during SUSO, CLTCL etc....

Tell us about those moves Pim!!:)

I had a good show, sound was gr8. The sound and show was better then 2 years ago, but i didnt leave with that feeling that they 'really' were the champions.
Maybe i am getting 2 old;) Seen everything........

Best song was imho Bijou and the worst Seagull...

Eventho the 'new' songs dont do it for me on the album.. were they better hearing live.

I saw you standing in your orange shirt. Nice to have a Dutch touch in German territory:) I was standing in front of the catwalk and no problems there, nice audience.

This show was WAY better than Antwerp, the mood was better and also playing. The boys really looked like enjoying playing, Brian was in a good mood and no mistakes were made. Paul is getting better in remembering the lyrics. Seagull was not bad at ALL! I love the song, Paul did a great job. Highlights were We Believe (really great live) Bijou and Say It's Not True
You got the right key baby, but the wrong key hole. ST

Orange shirt? I was wearing a black sweater...

About those moves - some of the fans who travel ALL around Europe seem to have been so brainwashed that they have created dance routines during Surf's Up, CLTCL and about every other track. It's soooo annoying if you just want to enjoy the music and some dude keeps taking pictures of himself and his friends with the show in the background. Especially if the dude is in front of you, even though you waited waaaaay longer yourself.

I was there, too. It was a fantastic show, the boys were in a very relaxed mood, sometimes funny and very self-confident. Brian played god-like in the first part of the show, TYMD was breathtaking. Some minor mistakes (or better: timing problems) in the middle of the show, and his solo was a bit contourless, but all in all he played a great set. Roger was cool, he looked fit and relaxed, he did a fine job, too. I loved all the songs he sung by himself, even AKOM (which I normally don't like too much). Paul's voice was in good shape, as was Brian's and Roger's. All vocals were really strong. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the backing voices came from the mixing desk ... they were almost too perfect.
What were the highlights of the show? I guess, everybody had a different reception. For me it was 39, the beginning of the show with SUSO, TYM, FBG, IWIA and AOBTD and Paul's "Bad Company". Oh, and I really liked Roger's solo and his songs. I had great expectations about the "Freddie" parts, but It wasn't as overwhelming as I had been expecting. I'd rather have him in flesh and blood. The sound was good, the lights and the screen were really beautiful.
It was a shame that I couldn't get a ticket to the floor level. I tried to get by the controls, but they had a double checkpoint. I had a seat with perfect view, but the people in my section were asleep, I think. Very cool and "sophisticated", but that's so typical for a Hambrg audience. I'm glad, some Dutch and Scandinavian people had made their way to Hamburg ;-)
Now I hope someone has recorded the show, I'm sure I would listen to it very often!
... I'll be back again before it's time for sunny-down ...

well, the same thing happened at both italian concerts and i didn´t have a problem with that at all, although i drove 2 days to get there (from berlin). i think it is just fair that the dedicated local fans are allowed to stand in the first row at "their" concert and i am pretty sure that most of them would have been queing as early as you without the fc-early entrance-possibility. maybe you shoud give your fc a call for rotterdam. most people who are driving around europe  make crazy moves because they want to have fun, thats what beeing in first rows of rock concerts is all about and i know that the band appreciates this.

If somebody can understand your words,- so that's me. I wasn't in Hamburg, but I was in Berlin. And some jerks shouted behind me and poured their German beer from time to time on my coat(I think they had pretty much of drink even efore concert). And plus they made photos and whistled. I wish I could have something havy in my hand... Really, people shouldn't drink anything else exept water at the concert...

Pim, it was not only GERMAN fan club members who had priority access, it was fan club in general or people who had bought from the German Fan Club. The tickets sold by the German FC had "fanclub" printed on them, that was one way to get priority access. The membership card of the OIQFC was another way. Surely, Hannie can get a similar agreement with the promoters for Rotterdam.

Please read that again, maybe you notice the contradiction. If people record they are usually looking "cool" and unmoved.

Wow, that could mean about 8000 different recordings from Hamburg ... ;-)

In fact, when I was at the "The Who" concert last year - which had a similar audience, age wise, - the people were  even more restrained than yesterday. Hamburg is infamous for such behaviour. Nobody wants to give away something personal. But yesterday there were enough people willing to sing or move to keep the mood swinging. It's only a pity that those weren't around me.

I couldn't expect such reaction for such a trifle. I don't know how about you, but my thoughts were only around Queen. I didn't want anybody to annoy me at the show. I saw them first time!
