Jeez. I love the song. Especially Bri's solo. "Call Me" would be more radio friendly imo. Make's no difference what they release here in New Zealand though. Never heard Celebrity played once on any of the radio stations here, including the classic rock ones. Great record company you've got there boys!
Just further evidence that Brian May is out of touch with reality.
Excellent choice as a single. One of my faves on the album although I would have released 'Small' before 'We Believe'.
As I said elsewhere, We Believe may not be my favourite track off the album, but it's 100 times better than Surf's Up.., and it also has a bit of a Christmassy sort of feel to it, so I think it's a commercially well timed release.  I also think it will get quite a bit of Radio 2 airplay, and I've already heard Johnny Walker playing it.  Currently reserving judgement on the 3:40 edit, until I've heard it, but traditionally, single edits haven't all been wonderful, and I hope this isn't just hacked in half for the sake of it.  It's a shame they couldn't have put out the full version, as Queen have released long singles in the past, but I guess WB is a bit repetetive for over six minutes of airplay.

A BIT??? It's about 4 minutes TOO long! ;0 There's NOTHING happening in that track, NOTHING... plain boring, from start to finish. Yeah, Queen released some long singles- but NO-ONE in their right mind is going to compare WE BELIEVE with BORHAP and INNUENDO, are they? ;)

Anyway- apparently according to Radio 2 the next single is CALL ME.
Maybe they are not that out of touch with reality as we thought? ;)

Well, Call Me is even more repetitive than We Believe!  [/img]  Also, it's not being performed live, whereas WB is.

Small should be another single, this would be the best choice. We Believe is rather dull. I don`t like it that much.
I have not heard anything from the Cosmos Rocks on the radio here in Norway...

But when I was on vacation in Italy, I heard a commercial on the radio for the new album.

Why are some people blaming Brian for the choice of a single?  Unfortunately it seems that they have no real choice here....

the decision to do NO Promotion is the record company
the record company will decide if and when a second single will come out and what it is....
they'll get input from the band....and the band may veto......but they won't get to pick the single and promotion $

the real shame is no videos........that really kills promotion
I think they could make a VERY nice promo video for Small.

Whereas with Queen you have 4 people pulling in four different directions fighting for their songs to be singles, these days you've got a three people consensus which means nobody is arguing an opposite corner. Thats a problem with a lot of the QPR stuff I think which leads to poor singles choices and quite bland studio out-put.

Queen's biggest asset in many ways was that it was four egos and four individuals competing against each other. they've lost that now with Brian, Roger and Paul all being seemingly on the same page and all being very agreeable in their old age.
a nice vid montage could be used for 'we believe'  but they wont do that (cant believe i admitted that)

think its not a very good choice for a single IMO though--its a bit to preachy for my taste...

i would choose TCR's, SB and TTS myself as single choices--heck Warboys would be better then 'WB'---

but dont listen to me i'm just the buying public....
i got a way with the boys on my block.. :-)
Although I am not a fan of Obama, I feel that We Believe might have been an appropriate single after Obama's presidential election victory.  Viva Hope-ium, LOL.

I am not crazy about We Believe either, but after one week without Queen in India (great country, I love it), I still cannot get that bloody song out of my head (and I only had The Cosmos Rocks for 3 days).

However, even though I am in India on business, I plan on briefly having indirect "contact" with Freddie in Panchgani on Tuesday.

By the way, I like Call Me (one of the better songs on an ordinary album) and think that it is also an appropriate single.
