as the european leg of the tour comes to a close,what is the feeling about q+pr.were you one who said,no never it will not work,then saw them and changed your mind.did you go along expecting high hopes and were let down.for me it was stunning night at the secc.2 kids first concert,they loved it.me ,i loved it also ,was blown away with the power and energy of the complete band.stunning light and sound show.maybe a small gripe as to some higher notes sung(or not sung lol).but overall went along expecting nothing more than a superb night.and it was delivered.so my point of view is.yes a success.

o by the way.the reason i ask this question is,someone in my town was offered a free ticket to go.he said it would be crap as not queen.saw him 2 days later.he couldnt shut up talking about how much he was impressed about the gig.
I fear this maybe a dangerous thread David. I reckon most of those who didn't approve probably didn't "waste"their money on going to a show. The ones who approve probably went and from most accounts on here very much enjoyed themselves but on the other hand most of those folk probably saw them on the last tour anyway.
To answer your question, I thought it was a successful combination in 2005 and after getting the new album and attending 2 shows in 2008 my opinion has not changed a bit. Long live QPR

I've not been to a show but YouTube is a wonderful thing so you can get a feel pretty much of everything these days from there.
I don't believe a tour of Brian, Roger and Paul would be able to sell anywhere out if they relied on Paul's previous material and new stuff written by the three of them. It is very much all hinged on people's love of Queen and their desire to hear these songs which although most recorded more than 20 years ago still resonate through the generations.
That's where I think some people have a problem with it as it's not really a "new" tour. Take the Queen songs out of the tour and you'd reduce the interest by 99%. So people see it as Brian and Roger trying another Queen tour but under a slightly different name. If the shows consisted mainly of Paul's older stuff and solo material from Brian and Roger then I don't think the critics would exist, even if they went under the "Queen+" name as they do. However they don't the linchpin of the tour, shows and the entities entire existence is the material written and released in or before 1991.

Well I for one have always been a supporter of this new version of the band. Being somewhat older than many here I remember Paul when he was famous the first time round, and I love his work.

The project has been incredible... 2 tours and 1 studio album (apart from 1 live album and 2 dvds) in only 3 years, aaamazing live perfomances, Brian and Rog together again onstage, playing some of the songs that didnt make it to the original Queen shows (Want it all, Show must go on... etc) good chemistry with Paul, 3 generations of fans united to share this experience that Queen is... yes yes yes and yes!... I was already tired of random aparitions with random singers, in random shows, awards, musicals, commertials... and everything... for the first time in 20 years this feels like a Queen tour, without a doubt.
Looking forward very much for the Santiago and Buenos Aires dates... 15 years of fan become worth it!!!!!!

i saw them in 2005 at newcastle, and although paul struggled a little on some of the songs, it was a fantastic return.
and now 3 years on, i think they have gelled, and i love most of the new album. i was at glasgow three weeks ago, and again at newcastle on tuesday night, and they really do feel like Queen.
im looking forward to whatever they decide to do next.

Complete no brainer. What would you rather have? No gigs at all. In my view Paul won a watch teaming up with queen and queen won a watch teaming up with Paul.

I think that QPR is/was a good, but not a great idea. It was a different idea than running out and replacing Freddie with an unknown clone who sounds like Freddie.
To me QPR is like the slow/fast acousitic version of HTF. The acoustic version of HtF was a very good innovative change of pace at the time, but now I strongly prefer the original "pure", hard version of HtF.
To me QPR is ok, but I would much prefer Brian and Roger solo (Queen BR) after they released their new album (tentatively titled "Pipe Dream").
Ideally, for me ...
