I think it's more fair to compare 'DSotM' with 'Queen II', since they're chronologically closer and have a more similar formula.
Either way Dark Side of the Moon probably had more of an impact.
I shouldn't be saying this on a Queen forum but I feel Pink Floyd made better 'albums', as complete pieces of art anyway. With an album like ANATO or Queen II, I find that while I like all of the songs, it's not the same as a concept album where there's an actual theme.
Dark Side of the Moon is better than A Night At The Opera and had a greater impact because it sold much more. I think Queen II is better than DSotM but then again, I think it's better than a lot of things. :P Some say Queen II is a concept album but that's up for debate(I personally don't think so).

most would say pink floyd made better albums than Queen, but I'm not sure if I agree. Albums like SHA, ADATR and opera are pretty awsome, Though floyd might have been more consistent. Even Queen's best albums usually had one dud.

Oh... if only Queen had followed that brilliant idea and had released ANATO and ADATR as a double album...
I agree with Zebonka, Queen albuns have always been a sum of songs and not concept albuns. The nearest concept we have on the Queen catalogue is Queen II's B side.
As for Pink Floyd (and Roger Waters solo), they mostly aimed for the conceptual format.
As an album, a whole piece, I can't remember a better album than "The Wall". Ever.

Queen II was of greater artistic merit than Dark Side Of The Moon, IMHO, but DSOTM was better produced and had a much greater impact.
I can't get into Pink Floyd at all. Like Bob Dylan, their songs always sound better when performed by someone else.
Like with Bob Dylan, I disagree with you.
I think DSOTM is more cohesive album. I would almost describe it as a soundscape.
I prefer listening to ANATO from start to finish.

Pink Floyd made better albums than Queen (I mean, how you say, more cohesive like an entire entity). But Queen made better songs. Both things are important, but the music still beeing the songs. I think that.

I imagine Freddie´s face being requested about such a thing!!

So much for your musical credibility.
