I heard some samples elsewhere some days ago, now I dloaded it just to confirm my thoughts that it's crap. Again.

I don't get the rules of this thread.  Are we not allowed to say it's crappy, or do we have to explain why it's crap before saying so?
Or were you just saying 'don't come in to bash it until you've actually listened to it?'.

...and it's surprisingly good. It seems like so far the worst song is 'Get Your Boots On', they should have left it as a B-Side.
Why would they pick that one as a single is beyond me.
Way much better than the mellow Coldplayish lame songs on 'How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb'.

Funny you should mention Coldplay... is it just me, or did their last big hit sound like it was recorded using Microsoft Songsmith??

This one is their best since Achtung Baby! I´ve given it maybe 10 listenings now and it keeps growing on me.

Indeed the best album since Achtung Baby for sure!
Does not beat that one, Joshua, Rattle and Unforgettable Fire, but I think it would end up in the all time top 5 of best U2 albums. Quite a surprise!

Personally I think 'The Joshua Tree' is excessively overrated.
All U2 did was having 3 massive hit singles, and the rest of the album are experimentations with blues and U2 songs that sound rather bland compared to their previous work.

Why did it create so much hype is beyond me.

once you get past the 3rd song the album just ebbs out,it hasnt lasted the sands of time either,had a listen to it the other day and the album sounds very dated now [even the hits].



am i the only one who thinks that Zooropa was their best album and Numb their best song? that was when they were at their creative best as far as im concerned...

Numb isn't so bad, but the video is just about intolerable...
