You have some weird obsession with goats and rape thequeen [/img] . Not for the first time you have mentioned rape without it having to do with anything.
Sick bastard.

Sit down, relax and enjoy the music, Queen fans!
What the hell...there's one thing I loved about Freddie that many Queen fans just don't get. He didn't take these things so seriously.
He said once, before delivering a breathtaking performance of Staying Power, going through three timbre variations, two octaves, just like in Action This Day, a side/lateral modulation and, above all, absolutely loud and clear without going out of tune:
"We're gonna do a few songs in the funk black category, whatever you called it. That doesn't mean we lost our rock and roll feel, ok? I mean...it's only a bloody recording, people get so excited about these things.

We just wanna try a few sounds, this is...uh...staying power".
I have no doubt there's no comparison between him and Paul Rodgers - Freddie possessed a wider range of skills and was a master when it came to the fundamentals of singing: he lorded it over. The question doesn't even come to my mind, musically speaking.
But to say that Paul Rodgers shouldn't be there singing with Queen, that he's a bad singer, that he doesn't fit Queen is just nonsense. Sheer nonsense. If it were not for him and his skill as a singer, Queen would have had a lot of trouble with this tour - the guy does bring some fresh air to Queen songs and sings some of them really well.
People mailed me because of my critiques of Freddie. Of course, I don't think he was a perfect singer, but I am honest enough to admit that I can't see any rock n roll singer as talented as him - Roger Daltrey couldn't be in tune. That's one of the problems of "Who At Leeds", or any of their concerts. He's so out of tune in "We're not gonna take it" that I can't listen to the live performance. I just can't, and I enjoy the song. In the studio recording, he's still out of tune, but the chorus was well conceived and compensated for his bad ear.
Robert Plant had the same problem and still had to cope with a guitar player who had a hard time playing in tempo, nailing the chords and delivering a decent soloing.
I don't underestimate Freddie - no way. The fact I don't think his range is what is the most exciting aspect of his singing doesn't mean that...he didn't have a spetacular range - without going out of tune, which is more important.
So, just for those who don't get tired of watching some performances, like me : -))), the male Aretha Franklin tempered with Ella's delicate flavor and mixed with an unique talent all of his own, here's Mr. Mercury genius in full swing, encompassing three different bases (aka singing modes, not the same as "style"), as many octaves as you're able to identify, and exploring at least two tune spectra of at least half the notes of the chromatic scale - all of this in two minutes of singing:
Sexy and elegant, as always. And one can't avoid falling in love with this (it's between 3:58 and 4:22) - it's sexy, elegant and such wonderful amazing vocals:
I am happy, as a Queen fan, that Paul Rodgers accepted touring with the guys - he's a very skilled singer who's showing why he has gathered so much respect and admiration and is paying Freddie the best tribute I can think of: singing his songs in a playful, joyful mood.
