I don't think it would have had any commercial appeal as a single to be honest. IMO it's the weakest on NOTW, with the best being SHA, WATC, MMB. Even WNY was better.

No ....he's right in a way , the recording could've been a lot better
And I think they realised this when it was played live ...wich IMO sounds
much better. Either way QPL will of course NEVER release a polished
version of the album ...let alone ALL albums

it,s late is a fantastic song.underrated and just passed by by many people.if it had been released as a single i feel it would have been a massive hit on the hard rock charts.it builds up so well it holds you till the end.thrashing guitars and drums to make your hair stand on end.freddie puts his complete soul in to it.the song is like sex...the slow build up,the smouldering bit in the middle just like teasing(ooooooo it,s been so long trying to work it out).then the almight climax,it,s all toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo late.perfect....give me it,s late anytime over any queen song.listen to it on headphones turned up very very very loud...

It's Late = The raw power of Rock as Queen understood it.

The sound brian gets during the solo is fucking amazing, my second favourite song from the album and GDML fucking rocks too!

The weakest song on the album is probably IMO Get Down Make Love but I like that song too.  The music to GDML is great but I hate the lyrics ;)  It's Late is incredibly awesome.
