Ha Ha... must be the only Queen fan on earth who doesn't like it. Just think it's really boring and very flat.

I don't think it would have had any commercial appeal as a single to be honest. IMO it's the weakest on NOTW, with the best being SHA, WATC, MMB. Even WNY was better.

God, you're a wanker if you don't love 'It's Late'... toss off!
Ha Ha... you've been told to toss off on a regular basis here, must be nice to tell someone else to do so you fat fucking ugly weird herman munster cunt, with your fat fucking spunk bucket of a burd.

No ....he's right in a way , the recording could've been a lot better
And I think they realised this when it was played live ...wich IMO sounds
much better. Either way QPL will of course NEVER release a polished
version of the album ...let alone ALL albums

Why would you say 'yes' to your own post?

Why did you remove "That said, I respect your point of view and it's been nice speaking to you." from the box when you quoted me?

Kansas What weak album are you referring to.

We Are The Champions
We Will Rock You

Two of the most universally known Rock Tunes.

Spread Your Wings - Excellent - nice story love the guitar work.
Sheer Heart Attack - Classic Live Favourite prefer Fred's vocals
Get Down Make Love - Excellent Guitar work in this one even outside of the middle section.
Who Needs You - Cool Song a song we can all relate to.
Melancholy Blues- Light but a nice easy going tune.
Sleeping On The Side Walk - Not my Cup of Tea, bluesy throwaway.
Fight From The Inside - Would have preferred Fred's Vocals on this- nice heavy bass on this.
Its Late - Superb!!! should have been a major International Hit without any bias on my part.
Freddie sings most of 'Sheer Heart Attack' on the studio version too...!

What a baby. You fail. You are just saying sorry to him because you know you can't go on arguing on him, because you're not man enough.

Jake> What have I told you about butting in when grown ups are speaking. Now go and sit on the naughty step and I'll deal with you in a minute.

Mr Jester> There's absolutely no need to apologise. It was an easy enough mistake to make. I sometimes forget that you cant write in a sarcastic tone and I just assume that folk know when I'm pulling their leg. It was actually my intention to take the piss out of the folk who would have you burned at the stake for daring to say a Queen song was bad. So if anyone needs to apologise it should be me. I'm sorry.

Jake> I've spoken to Mr Jester and he now understands that I was having a laugh and that you are a complete tool. Now let's take your "baby" comment and look at it in a little more detail. If being unable to argue with me makes someone a baby, where does that put you in the grand scheme of things? No, it doesn't mean that you're a baby. No it doesn't make you a feotus either, go back even further. Do you give in?
It makes you the fastest swimming sperm in the balls of the farmyard animal that raped your mother. Now go and get your crayon and write "I will not try to take part in discussions with grown ups again" 100 times.

alright everyone pipe down, it's only a song.  I give the original poster credit for not agreeing with everyone Just for the sake of it.  like most of you do.  "It's late" is no Bo Rhap,  it's a typical rocker with loud guitars and drums. Lots of bands were doing that sort of thing in the 70's. rush, yes, elp, all were showing off, but how many bands were doing bo rhaps?...For me it's a great song,  but queen do have better. The prophet song is better IMO.

Okay, let's mix it up.

After 5 special albums that culminated with ANatO and ADatR, Queen changed directions drastically.

We Will Rock You / We Are The Champions were and still are WAY overplayed in America.  Good songs sure, but I have heard them too many times at football games.

Spread Your Wings - Yup, I agree.  This is an excellent song, a nice diversion for John

Sheer Heart Attack - Good song live.  But there is a reason they left it off of the Sheer Heart Attack Album.  It is just not a very good song,  Niether are most of Tayler's songs.

Get Down Make Love - Live it continued their experimentation that started with songs like Prophet Song and Brighton Rock.  But really, the lyrics are just poor taste.

Who needs you - A light flamenco song that is not as good as their earlier attempts at different styles like Good Old Fashioned Loverboy, Seaside Rendezvous or Bring Back Leroy Brown.

Meloncholy Blues - Another song with Freddie solo at the piano.  Can't hold a candle to Love of My Life or You Take My Breath Away.

Sleeping on the Sidewalk - Nice little story, but no substance.

Fight From The Inside - Whaa?  One of the worst songs they ever put on vinyl.

It's Late - Sure it's got Brian's guitar on it.  But it just seems rushed with not a whole lot of thought put into it.  Brian wrote much better songs before and after this one.

Their best albums were the first 5.  They were spotty for the rest of their career.

Well,  I agree that the first five are their best, and among the best in rock history.  and I agree that roger's writng is mostly spotty, but I have NOTW at the 6th spot after those first five classics.  it's a battle between NOTW and Innuendo for me. The game is also great, but if you think queen were spotty after ADATR that's your opinion that I don't agree with.

Like I've mentioned before : The It's Late live-version sounds much better.
It's just an album-track wich sounds quite rushed and pretty simple for Queen's
standards ... I don't understand why it's such a long track either - aside from the
outro it sounds pretty basic IMHO of course ....

Really?  I mean to each their own as it's all subjective, but other than the energy, the live version is nowhere near the original.  Freddie doesn't sing it as well, the BV's pale in comparison, and Brian's solo is a shadow of the album track.
You don't understand why it's such a long track?  What's to understand?  It's a song that needs every second to tell the story.  Crazy Little Thing Called Love and Another One Bites The Dust are pretty basic too.  It's how songs move you, not how the band plays them, and it's not basic in the sense that the middle section swings the song from a melodic major key rocker into something darker when the F#m section comes in.  It takes the hopefully optimistic lyrical tone of the first few verses ("It's Late, but not too late") to an unhappy ending ("It's Late, it's all too late.")  End of song, end of relationship.  Music matching lyrics in a superb manner.  Throw in a tapping solo six months before EVH arrived on the scene, and there is rock perfection.  Or, a pretty basic track.

I agree that It's Late is the worst song on the album.

I also think that March of the Black Queen is the worst song on QII, Killer Queen is the worst song on SHA, and Bo Rap is the worst song on ANATO. Why did Queen continue to put such rubbish on their records?
